Additionally, this role is responsible for leading the deployment of our BI tools through data warehousing and self-service best practices. Create and maintain large-scale BI solutions utilizing the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack, IBM Cognos, Microsoft Excel, and other internal tools 2. Thoroughly assess customer needs and validate requirements; scope of requests are fully understood and solutions are derived 3. Ensure delivery of product; manage customer expectations, including managing priority with customers and leaders and gathering additional information as needed 4. Perform comprehensive data analysis and validation to answer strategic business questions; thorough understanding of Direct Supply data structures 5. Create and optimize common business logic through complex T-SQL query authoring 6. Liaison to BI Architect and Data Warehouse Architect; provide detailed technical requirements for system enhancements needed to implement BI solutions 7. Identify and implement system or ETL enhancements to summarize or capture new data 8. Manage logical data layer through IBM Cognos Framework Manager metadata administration 9. Partner with System Administrators and Database Engineering to own and administer enterprise BI applications 10. Lead planning, design, and implementation of Business Intelligence projects 11. Support of customer business intelligence requests received through ticketing channel 12. Monitor and proactively correct technical issues; second tier support for complex issues 13. Review BI team development and code for accuracy and performance; oversee BI system change management activities 14. Align technical approach to business objectives; certify technical design and implementation 15. Format and present new reporting solutions and findings to customers; provide training and user documentation as needed 16. Communicate development approach to management and customer stakeholders 17. Coordinate with other IT functional areas (database, engineering, etc.) for problem solving and data investigation 18. Adhere to and guide Business Intelligence and Software Development best practices 19. Provide developer support and mentorship to fellow team members *Minimum Qualifications: * 1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Computer Systems, MIS, Database, Engineering, or a related field 2. 6+ years of experience in corporate database reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SSRS, or IBM Cognos) 3. 4+ years of experience in VB, Microsoft Access, and/or other Microsoft SQL Server applications 4. Expert ability to write commands in T-SQL to extract data from relational databases (i.e., stored procedures, views, functions, derived tables, complex joins, join order, query hints, etc.) 5. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel (i.e., formulas, formatting, pivot tables, macros, etc.) 6. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills 7. Proven ability to leverage technical solutions and data visualization to accelerate and increase the effectiveness of business decisions *Additional Preferred Skills: * 1.
