Phone and Skype *Position: Big Data Ingestion Developer * *Location: Cincinnati, OH* *Position Summary:* There are several Kroger initiatives in need of clearly defined and readily available data to be used for analytics, reporting, process improvements, etc. The Ingestion Developer will be responsible for the implementation of various solutions arising out of the large data processing (GBs/PBs) over Hadoop. *Essential Job Functions:* · Work against individual data sets guaranteeing their validity and timeliness in to the Big Data Platform · Work with both internal and external partners to ensure that the data set is being ingested in the Big Data Platform and follows the best practices outlined to them · Prioritize and ingest data; report on issues · Maintain ingestion cadence and quality in consultation with Big Data Delivery Analyst · Assist with analytic tooling enablement and capability within the Big Data Platform · Ensure data sets are in a hardened state – hosted in Hadoop and available for exploration through various JDBC/ODBC connections *Minimum Position Qualifications:* · Very strong server-side Java experience, especially in an open source, data-intensive, distributed environment · Experience with open source products · Implemented and in-depth knowledge of various Java, J2EE, and EAI patterns · Implemented complex projects dealing with the considerable data size (GB/PB) and with high complexity · Well aware of various architectural concepts (Multi-tenancy, SOA, SCA, etc.) and NFR’s (performance, scalability, monitoring, etc.) · Good understanding of algorithms, data structure, and performance optimization techniques · Knowledge of database principles, SQL, and experience working with large databases beyond just data access · Experience working with batch processing/ real-time systems using various open source technologies like Solr, Hadoop, NoSQL, Spark, Hive, etc. *Desired Previous Job Experience:* · Grocery/retail experience · Excellent negotiating skills · Excellent knowledge and experience in contract management · Excellent communication skills -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP or Oracle Financials" group.
