Job Title : Release Engineer Location : San Francisco, CA Duration : 12+ months Responsibilities: Strong Websphere or Jboss experience Strong Linux Experience Strong Troubleshooting and Application deployment Overview of Position: The Release Engineer II will be responsible for provisioning, deploying complex website assets, configuring and quickly troubleshooting virtual test environments for the eCommerce arm of Macy’s. The candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining automation components for builds, deployments and tracking. Solid understanding and practical experience of Agile SDLC, with particular emphasis on release engineering functions and the DevOps philosophy. Strong release tooling and operations automation background. Strong aptitude towards understanding complex existing provisioning and deployment mechanisms, with an ability to support and enhance them. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working with rapid, overlapping product release cycles and shifting priorities. An ability to articulate deployment requirements for automation. Willingness to work occasional evenings and monthly weekend rotations.
