*Position: Business Analyst with Compliance Risk* *Location: NY (Manhattan)* *Duration: Until the end of the year* *Need H1B copy* Job Overview: Business Analyst for Compliance Risk and Governance Technology division. As a Technical Business Analyst, you will be acting as a liaison between the Technology and Information Risk (TIR) Business Clients and the CEDAR development team, with specific focus on analyzing TIR data feeds for the migration of the CEDAR tool to the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Open Pages DataWarehouse. In this role you will be responsible for working with the stakeholders to analyze business needs, author requirements documentation, and perform testing/review of developed solutions. In addition, you will be working closely with other members of the development team (report authors, ETL developers, data modelers, etc.) to facilitate communication of client-specific business rules, processes, requirements and requests. *Duties & Responsibilities: * - Provide business analysis coverage for the TIR reporting initiatives which are functionally being merged with the GRC program. - Work as a liaison between business clients and development team in all phases of development from solution definition to deployment. - Translate high-level business requirements on multiple, complex reporting requests into detailed functional and technical specifications. Responsible for maintaining requirements queue in JIRA. - Perform feasibility analysis, scope projects, prioritize deliverables, recommend alternative solutions and project strategies. - Perform data analysis on source system data for documenting ETL mapping and transformation rules working closely with the Data Modeler to understand the architecture and data flow in/out of CEDAR. Establish high, mid and micro level project plans, status reports and estimates for project teams as well as stakeholders. Skill, Experience & General information Required: *Skills Required * - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required. - At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst. - At least 4 years of experience working on Business Intelligence \ Business Analytics \ Data Warehouse solutions. - At least 4 years for SQL experience with the ability to write ad-hoc queries to perform data analysis. A preference is given to Sybase v12.5 and DB2 v10+ databases. - Experience with IBM Cognos BI v8+ and IBM Open Pages is a plus. - Ability to interpret and understand E-R data models (conceptual, logical and physical) is a plus. - Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. - Relevant and substantial work experience with business requirements definition and management (end to end), structured analysis, process design, use case documentation and definition. - Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Capable of collaborating effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions, roles and able to interact effectively with all levels. - Self starter. Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects with minimal supervision. Can manage a complex ever changing priority list and resolve conflicts to competing priorities. - Strong understanding of the Financial Services industry and content lifecycle relating to Risk, Regulatory, Audit and Knowledge Management needs. - Good customer service skills. Ability to deal with difficult situations/individuals gracefully. Ability to influence decisions/ mindsets. Strong problem solving skills. Ability to identify where focus is needed and bring clarity to business objectives, requirements and priorities.
