Required Skills: • 5 to 8 years as a Network Administrator, Engineer for a large networked environment with a in-depth understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, IPSEC, OSPF, VRRP, Spanning tree, CLI commands and the ability to be the primary point of escalation and problem solving leading a team • The selected candidate must have a background and work experience that demonstrates abilities and skills to perform duties as an architect for the environment, designing, engineering solutions and developing fully documented implementation plans • The selected candidate should have the demonstrated skills and abilities to be a thought leader for the organization that is forward thinking and being the primary point of engineering services and designing solutions that drives innovation for the customer • Knowledge and demonstrated skills working in a mixed hardware environment with in-depth experience with Cisco, Enterasys, Xtreme, HP and other hardware OEMs. • Demonstrated work experience with abilities to develop upgrade paths, hardware and environment life cycle management, documentation and presentation that help the customer focus priority and attention on the environment • Knowledge and skills working in a mixed operating system environment to include clustering, meshed technologies, blade enclosures • Experienced managing and supporting Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper WAN devices, SSLVPN solutions based of Fortinet OEM hardware equipment • Extensive knowledge and skills working with and supporting IP Sec tunnels, connectivity of hardware devices from various vendor’s and ensuring that systems talk using standardized communication protocols • Knowledge, skills with a focus in designing wireless connectivity implementing WIFI within the customers environment that provides significant improvement of connectivity • Knowledge and skills with SSLVpn clients, server or appliances configuration • Demonstrates superior problem solving skills • Past experience working in an outsourcing engagement • Past experience working with a State/Local government environment • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non technical staff • Stay abreast of changes and updates in relevant technologies. • Demonstrate a sense of urgency, work well under pressure and be able to meet multiple deadlines. • Remain patient and professional at all times. • Experience with desktop, laptop, mobile and VOIP devices and configurations that fully extend the capabilities of the local area network in a drive to achieve customers goals • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Solar Winds, Syslogs, key logging and authentication tools and hands on understanding of active directory environments • Have relevant industry certifications that demonstrate ability to learn in a network centric curriculum, which demonstrates a high level of knowledge development Optional Skills: • Familiarity with Microsoft Messaging and collaboration tools • Familiarity with application performance tuning and management • Designing and implementation of new technologies • Ability to diagnose problems and identify solutions that are effective and provide long-term solutions Job responsibilities: • Leads the team and manages the day to day support requirements • Directs all Infrastructure design and engineering changes that impact the customer • Maintains running logs of changes, represent changes in the Change Managemet board • Organizes the work level effort of the team in critical support areas by leading the effort and being the direct point of communication to the HP Leadership and customer • Ability to write and deliver root cause analysis of an issue and implementing long term solutions • Perform continuous assessment of the overall environment, key single points of failure and effectively communicating the work level efforts required to resolve these sites • • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware connected to the network environment. • Respond to queries either in person or over the phone, following all support requests to an end solution, verifying that the customer concurs with results • Develop training and work level instruction manuals for the environment. • Respond to email messages for customers seeking help. • Ask questions to determine nature of problem. • Create requirements for project level work • Work with core HP Team to support the customer roadmap, inventory and changes to the environment • Lead change efforts, creating required documentation to discuss changes to the environment • Work with 3rd party vendors to fully understand install and support requirements for systems
