Thank you. *RF Tester (Rational Functional Tester)* *Location: El Segundo, CA* *Duration: 18 month contract* *Interviews: 2 phone screens and then onsite interview (or Skype if not local)* General Skills: The candidate for this position must have the ability to work as a team member or independently and have extensive understanding of RF principles and test engineering methodologies. Candidate will assist Test Team Lead in orchestrating priorities, deliverables and schedules to internal and external customers. The candidate should be in a position to test and analyze products on tight schedules throughout the development cycle. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must be able to work well in a fast-paced market-driven environment. The candidate must have a high capacity for learning new concepts. Education and Experience Requirements: · B.S. Degree in technical field (e.g. EE, ME, Computer Science, etc.). · 3+ years of practical experience in hardware development and/or hardware test/quality assurance engineering. · RF knowledge/experience is required. · Knowledge of digital communications standards, e.g. 8-PSK, FSK, QPSK, QAM. · Good troubleshooting and analytical skills is highly desired. · Ability to use different types of test equipment such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal analyzer, power meter, modulators/demodulators, upconverters/downconverters, signal generators. · Experience measuring channel power, S-parameters, CNR, SNR, MER, BER. · Detailed working knowledge of test standards and protocols. · The candidate must also have knowledge of using different operating systems including: Microsoft Windows XP/7/8, Linux. · Direct experience/knowledge with RF components, e.g. power dividers, mixers, couplers, filters, attenuators is required. · High RF frequency experience is highly desired (up to Ka band). · Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, is a must. · Must be able to multi-task. · Strong work ethic with a "can-do" attitude. · Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Specific Responsibilities: · Execute product HW validation testing to find issues that directly impact the customer in addition to tests developed based on DIRECTV specification. · Publish test reports / results to provide information in a clear and concise manner that can be utilized for approval of hardware into our suppliers and our customer base. · Strive for efficiency in performing product functionality, and usability testing according to approved test plan and test schedule. · Perform logical validation process of failures prior to dissemination of information to functional groups or suppliers. · Identifying, analyzing, and documenting hardware defects and work with the team to troubleshoot and resolve any hardware issues. · Provide feedback on test plans and procedures developed by Test Development teams for the purpose of improving accuracy, clarity and quality of documents and execution. · Must be able to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic work environment. · Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards. · Maintain a safe and clean work environment. · Perform all other duties as assigned and required.
