Role: Cognos Business Intelligence Location: Dover, DE Duration: 9-12 Months This is a programming position where the contractor will be focused mostly on Cognos Business Intelligence system. This is an ongoing position. Years of Relevant Experience: 5 to 8 years Preferred Education: Four (4) year college degree or equivalent technical study: Role Description: Responsible for Department wide administration and upgrades of DelDOT’s Cognos Business intelligence systems. Function as the technical expert with all DelDOT’s data systems involving reporting applications. Identify improvements to reporting standards to achieve high quality services / products. Plan all required process steps. Review and understand the Application Team’s work plan. Provide status of work to Team Lead. Develop contingency plans as necessary. Engage in ongoing process improvement. Detailed functional, business and process knowledge. Responsible for Cognos migration to latest Cognos version to maintain IBM support. Provide expertise in framework, cube and reporting development and maintenance. Provide expertise is complete system configuration and administration. Provide expertise in one or more database environments. Excellent client communication skills including customer service. Excellent troubleshooting skill including, but not limited to, technical issues and business process related issues. Candidate should be able to work in a team environment or independently. Required / Desired Skills Prior experience administering Cognos Business Intelligence system versions 10 and above Advance query and report writing skills with cubes.
