Using existing templates, the individual will capture actual data access and SLA requirements and work with clients to define reporting and data access and selection/query specifications and then continue with the development and testing of these reports in a Cognos Environment. Skills Required:** • Proven 10-12 years of hands-on business requirements capture and distillation • Experienced with requirements capture tools and templates (such as IBM’s Rational Rose) • Able to translate business requirements into actionable and complete design, development and testing specifications that will enable and drive Cognos design work • Able to work with testing architect to develop use cases and scenarios. • Able to work with clients to define actual Cognos GUI and navigation interface required to select and view specific data subsets (Cognos Universe and creation of cubes a must) • Able to work with clients to match requirements to specific BI Cognos tool features • Strong experience with latest Cognos (design, development and unit testing experience) • Experience with other open source BI tools a plus (Tableau, R, etc.) • Strong experience with writing SQL queries and creating reporting testing data sets. • Able to run Facilitated Requirements JAD sessions • Data modeling experience a major plus • Experience with Cognos installation, configuration and fine tuning a major plus. • Experience with new Cognos features (such as TM1) and Cognos in Oracle and SQL Server environments are major pluses.
