Linux & App Eng - Chef/Puppet/Cfengine Location: Sunnyvale, CA Job type: 1 Year Contract *Required Qualification* *Work experience**: 8-10 years* *Roles and responsibilities: * • Linux System Administrator responsible for the operation, maintenance, and support of the high-availability server/database/storage platforms located in remote Data Centers across multiple time zones. • Accept transfer of knowledge from existing teams to be a Subject Matter Expert on select cloud services. • Supports daily operations including monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, capacity management, provisioning, hardware and software configuration, patching, upgrades and performance monitoring/tuning. • Maintain and troubleshoot in-house and 3rd party software, working with both internal/external groups to ensure our stack is effectively integrated, configured, managed and supported in production. • Act as liaison between different teams to help understand cross-functional requirements and contribute to discussions and planning as required to change those goals into reality. • Deliver project milestones and tasks assigned by manager on schedule, communicating progress regularly. • Manage tasks assigned by top-tier the SysEng and In-Cloud Engineering teams • Update high-quality documentation of all relevant specifications, systems and procedures. • Once training is complete, support our 24x7 production cloud environment including on-call rotation for incident escalations. • May require occasional evening and weekend work as needed to support business. • Minimal domestic travel is a slight possibility.
