*Job Title: Program Manager* *Location: Gaithersburg VA* *Type of hire: 18+ months contract* *Interview Mode: Telephonic and Skype* The Senior Project / Programme Manager leads business and transformation projects/programmes, ensures that they align to the vision and business strategy, and that true business value is delivered to the customer as a result. Having a strong partnership with the business customer driving the demand for the solution is critical to success in this role. As such the Senior Project / Programme Manager will not only meet demand, but also challenge and renegotiate demand as needed based on strategic technical drivers and corporate ambitions. The Senior Project/ Programme Manager has a relentless passion for delivery, with a strong customer focus. The role views process as guidance for achieving delivery, and constantly looks for innovative means to deliver quicker and more seamlessly within the process guideposts. The role is accountable for ensuring solutions solve key business needs in an integrated and simple manner, exploiting existing assets where feasible, and minimizing the long term total cost of ownership. The role must also ensure that delivery occurs with a sense of urgency and speediness of response, and can be completed within the approved programme budget and schedule commitments, whilst continuously assessing risk and balancing the need for flexibility and agility with conformance to standard methods and tools. Focus areas include stakeholder management across Business, IT, and vendor partners, risk management and delivery of business benefit. This role is also required to coach and mentor others in Programme and Project Management, and drive development of the project / programme management capability across IT in a tangible and measurable way. * Job Dimensions: *· Experience managing and leading global project teams across geographies · Typical programs ?=$1M in budget size · Experience working in global organizations, across cultural boundaries where Stakeholders and project team members are geographically dispersed · The ability to travel both domestically and internationally · Strong business acumen in the Commercial Domain · Demonstrated skills interacting with Senior Leaders · Programme/Project Management certifications preferred · Demonstrated understanding of quality and compliance · Excellent oral/written communication, relationship management, analytical and influencing skills · Proven skills, experience, and track record negotiating across complex groups, managing multiple medium to high risk projects simultaneously, while meeting delivery, quality, and compliance standards · Ability to partner with the business to develop innovative solutions that have a major impact while aligning with business and IT strategy · Ability to influence people and thought processes without direct authority · Strong knowledge and experience with suppliers and supplier solutions · Proficient with Word, Excel, MS Project, Visio, and PowerPoint · Ability and desire to assist in evolution of internal processes * Requirements/Qualifications: *· 10+ years professional work experience · 7+ years in project management · 5+ years managing vendor relationships and managing partner resources · Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree desirable · PMP certification highly desirable · 3+ years experience in an FDA regulated industry such as pharmaceutical or biotech is highly desirable.
