*QUALIFIED CANDIDATES HAVE:*

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent
experience

Minimum of 5 years experience in *MQ system administration* involving
implementation, support and planning

Minimum of 3 years experience in *MB system administration* involving
implementation, support and planning.

MQ experience must include configuring the product for performance,
monitoring, and high availability

Must possess an understanding of *UNIX *operating systems, with emphasis on
Solaris and/or RHEL

Ability to present complex technical topics to management and to external
customers in a way that non-technical people can understand

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, while providing
day-to-day support

Use of own cell phone for responding to rotational on call pager**



*JOB DESCRIPTION*:

Support the midrange and mainframe environments with emphasis on MQ and
Message Broker (MB)

MQ and MB performance analysis, application planning, product maintenance

Assist application teams in troubleshooting MQ and MB related issues.

Assess the future application needs for new MQ and MB functionality

Installation, configuration, tuning, and security analysis of the MQ and MB
environments

Create and maintain MQ and MB documentation as it pertains to applications
and message flow, and provide continued process improvement in area of
responsibility

Design and architect the MQ and MB environments with a focus on high
availability including creation of detailed technical documents

Assure all production queues have appropriate monitoring in place

Interface with outside vendors for the support and maintenance of standards,
resolution of problems and other operational issues

Interacts with external and internal customers, business partners,
outsourcers, and suppliers on a regular basis

Provide technical leadership and mentoring

Administer mainframe access and security using RACF

Be available for non-business hours on-call support



*WebSphere Message Broker* version 6.1 – candidate will be expected to drive
the project for upgrading to WMB v7.

*WebSphere MQ* version 7 – variety of technical platforms: Windows, Unix,
and mainframe administration.



Customer service skill sets important – must have own cell phone – for
rotational on-call pager for off-hour and weekend support.
