Designs monitors and rules from customer requests in the System Center
Operations Manager (SCOM) application.

Responsibilities:

• Setup, debug and analyze monitors and rules to satisfy customer requests.

• Daily reporting on the progress made for each customer request

• Work within a team to ensure ConocoPhillips Standards are followed.

• Setup will include the installation and configuration of monitoring
agents within the SCOM console and the validation of the operation of the
agent in a production environment

• Provide proactive support to determine workflow issues and suggest
resolution

Basic/Required

• 2 + Years of solid SCOM experience

• Proficient knowledge of Windows Operating Systems

• PowerShell, VBScript and Knowledge of SCOM classes

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Self-motivated

*• SCOM Management Pack development experience including Discoveries,
Rules, Monitors, views, reports, Dashboards, Security. *

*• A basic understanding of Wintel solutions, i.e., Citrix, Exchange,
SharePoint, IIS, AD, and HP Insight Manager. *

*• An advanced understanding of Microsoft SQL *



Project lead for infrastructure and systems upgrades/implementations.
Provide and update documentation of network and operating procedures and
guidelines. Provide security assessments and recommendations on existing
configurations. Ensure a secure and robust environment for the
administration system. Perform maintenance on servers and desktops.
Patch/security updates to physical and virtual servers . Ensure proper
security protocols and guidelines are followed. Protect the network from
vulnerabilities . Monitor and perform replication, backups and recovery .
Monitor, improve and maintain the disaster recovery environments. Use
project management tools and techniques to implement new initiatives.
Report project status . Work with end users or lower level staff to achieve
common goals. Perform Cost/Benefit analysis of proposed IT projects.
Provide system analysis/troubleshooting by reviewing logs and working with
application team on production issues. Perform other duties as assigned.
Typically requires at least ten years of experience. Works independently
with guidance in only the most complex situations and is recognized as an
expert in subject matter. Serves as a resource for best practices/quality
on functional teams or projects. Identifies applications of functional
knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems.
