*Cognos TM1 Developer/Analyst * *Location*: Chicago IL (Downtown)
*Duration*: Original Contract to 11/09/2016 (Extension following up to 24 months) *BASIC FUNCTION:* *This position is responsible for applying emerging technologies to develop sophisticated database solutions; working closely with business and technical areas collecting/defining requirements associated within business operations. Translating them into functional design Documents/Reports; participating in development of Divisional Operations Financial reports including operational metrics utilizing SQL, Cognos (TM1), and the Enterprise Data Warehouse; and utilizing data analysis methods and applications.* *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* *1. Review and validate data for all tools and systems that support departmental, divisional operations or the Enterprise Project Portfolio. * *2. Code and execute SQL statements to query and extract data from various relational databases (need to review how language can relate to Cognos/TM1)* *3. Create reports including detail and summary level in order to isolate and address business objectives for divisional operations with attention to detail. * *4. Code, test and debug mainframe and client server programs including SQL, VB, JCL, Syncsort and FOCUS in order to query, sort and extract files. * *5. Support process improvement efforts to reach divisional performance targets. Assist in the facilitation, analysis and/or document business processes to evaluate performance effectiveness and business impacts. * *6. Assist transforming business needs into technical requirements. * *7. Coordinate interaction with various levels of operations staff, escalating issues to departmental management when necessary. * *8. Interact with management and technical staff to identify and assess reporting needs. Participate in the design and development of common metrics. Generate standard and ad-hoc reports. * *9. May perform system administration and other support for applications including meeting service level agreements as assigned.* *10. Support other portfolio, application, and reporting processes as assigned* *11. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.* *12. Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.* *13. Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.* *14.
