Position : Business Analyst with life and annuity
Location : New Haven,CT
Duration : 6+ Months

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Acts as liaison between internal business units, technology and support
teams. Elicits requirements using various methods to develop business
requirement document and functional specifications using standard
templates. Conducts peer reviews as requested.
Reviews and evaluates internal systems procedures to resolve complex
business and processing problems.
Recommends procedural and business process workflow changes, improvements,
and program modifications to improve system accuracy and efficiency.
Reviews and assists with the implementation of system procedures
necessitated by the introduction of new products, policy changes, and
system software enhancements and maintenance.
Investigates and responds to system processing problems. Identifies and
analyzes production problems and assists programming staff with resolution.
Acts as a mentor to level I business analysts and collaboration with
business analyst team members and project team members

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Minimum of 5 years experience working as a BA with life and annuities
insurance systems applications.
Universal Life experience strongly preferred.
SDLC methodology working knowledge including when BA allocations are the
highest and why.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong listening skills
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; able to develop collaborative
relationships.
Analytical and problem solving skills. Sound judgment in decision making

BUSINESS ANALYSIS REQUIREMENTS SKILLS
Elicit requirements
Determine requirements estimates
Facilitate JAD sessions
Convert Elicitation Notes into formal Business Requirements
Conduct Requirements Review / Walkthrough
Create a Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) from Business Requirements
to Functional Requirements to Testing scenarios

BUSINESS ANALYSIS TESTING SKILLS
Build a Test Matrix to identify possible Test Conditions and Scenarios
Develop Test Plan with all the Test conditions including the following:
Execution Steps, Validation points and Timeline of execution
Create new Test Scripts or updates to existing test scripts based on the
Test Strategy
