Job Title: SQL DBA w/Oracle BI
Location: Columbia, SC
Duration: 12 Months
Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases.
Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance,
access and security administration. Performs backup and recovery on
Database Management Systems, configures database parameters, and prototype
designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements,
data dictionaries and warehousing requirements. This position optimizes
database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum
configuration, database performance and cost.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
SCDMV SUPPORTS IN THE NEIGHBOORHOOD OF 100 PLUS SQL SERVER DATABASES AND
ARE IN THE PROCESS OF MIGRATING THOSE DATABASES FROM SQL SERVER 2008 TO SQL
SERVER 2012. IN ADDITION DMV IS IMPLEMENTING HIGH AVAILABILITY SOLUTIONS ON
A NUMBER OF THE SYSTEMS SUPPORTED BY THESE DATABASES AND INCREASING OUT USE
OF REPORTING SERVICES AND ANALYSIS SERVICES IMPLEMENTED IN A NUMBER OF
SUPPORT SYSTEMS SUCH AS SHAREPOINT, MS SYSTEM CENTER, TEAM FOUNDATION
SERVER, AND OTHERS. SCDMV IS ALSO FACING INCREASING SECURITY CONCERNS
AROUND THESE ASSETS. SCDMV IS ALSO STANDING ANALYSIS AND REPORTING SERVICES
FOR ITS ORACLE DATA ASSETS THROUGH ORACLE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE. THIS
ENGINEER WILL BE DEVELOPING AND PRESENTING TRAINING TO BUSINESS USERS IN
THE USE OF ORACLE BI SOLUTIONS.
SCDMV IS LOOKING FOR ASSISTANCE TO SUPPORT THESE INITIATIVES. THIS IS
EXPECTED TO BE A LONG TERM, ON SITE, ASSIGNMENT.
CANDIDATE WILL BE WORKING IN A TEAM ENVIRONMENT CONSISTING OF 5 DATABASE
ENGINEERS AND ADMINISTRATORS AND WORKING DIRECTLY WITH APPLICATION
DEVELOPERS AND SERVER SUPPORT TEAM.
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
SQL Server
Setup and maintain data replication and mirroring
Configure maintenance automation
Backup and Recovery
Troubleshoot SQL Server service performance issues as they occur, including
after-hours and weekends
Manage SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
Install and configure new SQL Servers
SQl Server Analysis Services
Migrating Sql Server database to Sql Server 2012.
Developing Reports using SSRS
Oracle 11/12
Develop Dashboard and reports using Oracle BI
Develop and present end user training in Oracle BI
