Position:Project Manager with Agile/waterfall Location: Santa Barbara, CA Duration : 6-12 months minimum! DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Understand company’s global/regional strategic and tactical business plans, strategies, objectives, and priorities as they link to the IT organization’s priorities and objectives. Provide direct hands-on project management over key cross-functional IT-business enterprise projects. Supervise PMO resources, as required, including project coordinators and contractors. Work within the culture to develop and introduce project management methodologies appropriate to the scope of enterprise projects required for company growth. Ensure processes are suitable for adequate project control but are as light-weight as possible. Leverage IT project lifecycle processes so that all IT teams are able to follow standardized project processes and become increasingly self-sufficient. Build, maintain, and support a centralized project database for standard reporting and project/portfolio/enterprise investment analysis. Supervise PMO resources to assist application domains and infrastructure leaders in categorizing and prioritizing project requests Facilitate business case and Charter development for proposed projects Assist executive management in review and prioritization of project proposals Collect, analyze, and report investment portfolio status/risks to IT and executive management Bachelor’s degree minimum; advanced degree preferred. Project Management Professional (PMO) certification or equivalent formal training strongly preferred. Year(s) of Experience & Background Required 3-5 years experience in leading IT projects, particularly enterprise application implementations. Functional & Technical Competencies Working knowledge of standard project methodologies (waterfall and Agile) and PMO best practices operations. Experience in working with off-shore development/QA resources. Strong interpersonal, oral/written communication and presentation skills; strong application and technology portfolio analysis/management skills. Thorough computer/software skills, including MS Project, Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Google Docs, and enterprise project portfolio management skills for tools, such as Workfront or CA Clarity.
