Senior Systems Engineer Santa Clara CA, 6-12 months contract Strong with the skills highlighted in red below * Description* Company is searching for a Senior System Engineer (Radford 3) to deliver and maintain core highly available Microsoft infrastructure services including Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure. This role will be a critical part of the infrastructure team providing scalable, reliable solutions for the business. *Responsibilities* • Provide senior level engineering and delivery for Microsoft related services. • Act as a key player in engineering and delivering new Microsoft On-Premise and Cloud services including Azure, Office 365, Enterprise Mobility Suite (Azure AD Premium, MFA, RMS) focused on seamless integration with On-premise technologies • Maintain and operationalize core Microsoft security and identity technologies including ADFS 2012 R2, Microsoft PKI, and Identity Manager • Work with applications teams to develop automation to improve DR for critical services • Deliver and maintain Server applications such as IIS, SQL Server, LDAP, and Radius/NPS, including the development of a roadmap for continuous improvement and version upgrades • Manage and maintain global Group Policies • Provide operations support including log analysis, workflow, troubleshooting, service optimization, account management and installation/maintenance/updates of Microsoft technologies • Perform day-to-day operational support of the Windows environments including the development of run-time automation and improved ability to reduce the amount of operations overhead required to maintain the environment • Design and deploy best practices regarding system monitoring, change control, service level agreements, and lead/assist in the creation of the company’s infrastructure policies and standards • Manage secondary storage solutions and archival/backup solutions (NetBackup) • Analyze and resolve problems associated with technical issues, recommend solutions for changing needs • Provide after hours on call support on a rotation schedule with other staff members *Requirements* • 7-10 years of experience engineering Information Technology infrastructure, specifically regarding Microsoft technologies. At least 3 years has to be related to delivering new projects and capabilities vs. operational maintenance • Demonstrated ability to execute and prioritize multiple problems and issues with minimal supervision, excellent organizational skills, a teamwork approach to work but also act independently to solve problems when necessary • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, resiliency in the face of continual change, and ability to handle high demands • Demonstrable knowledge of Office 365, Azure IaaS/PaaS, PowerShell, SQL, VMware ESX, Hyper-V, PKI, SAML 2.0/ADFS • Candidate must have strong ability to execute projects and understanding of project methodology • Experience design, configuring and setting up server availability and performance monitoring systems • Experience supporting global corporate computing environments is required • Available for travel • Good oral and written English communication skills, strong interpersonal skills • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and after-hours work. Must be periodically on call for after-hours support.
