You will have the opportunity to work with large, "big data" sets such as scientific data, machine generated data from our farmer's equipment to geospatial data, precision agriculture, remote sensing, weather and or soil data. We are revolutionizing the agriculture industry by helping the world's farmers sustainably increase their productivity with digital tools. If you are someone that is passionate about innovation and excited about being a key contributor to building a sustainable business. *What You Will Do: * •Develop responsive, robust web applications to present agronomic, geospatial and climatological information on maps, charts, and feeds. •Collaborate with product, design, science and engineering leadership to conceptualize great phone and tablet experiences for the agriculture industry. •Work with data ranging from on farm collected precision agriculture data to remote sensed satellite imagery •Be a part of an agile team that embraces best practices and modern tools (Git, Jira/Stash, Jenkins) for web development. •Develop distributed scalable platforms to process high volume, computationally intensive models •Opportunity to learn new technologies and frameworks to solve some great challenges in the agriculture industry (i.e. limited access to a reliable data connection). •Continuously develop and release applications with great unit and application test coverage. •Opportunity to learn other platforms and languages like server side REST in Java / Clojure, Android Application Development or iOS. *Basic Qualifications: * •At least 5 years experience programming in web technologies as well as deployment in large cloud based distributed environments •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science OR equivalent combination of education and experience •Prior experience supporting consumer products and a passion for software that works, scales, and makes a difference *Preferred Qualifications: * •Strong understanding of OO programming, design patterns (e.g. MVC), data structures and algorithms, with a BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. •Experience working with Javascript frameworks. React using Flux and/or Redux is preferred, but AngularJS, Ember.js, or Backbone are also acceptable. •Experience working with dependency and file management systems such as npm, Webpack, and Browserify. •Experience working with task runners such as Gulp or Grunt. •Experience with version control systems.
