*Sr MySQL DBA Engineer * *Palo Alto, CA* *6 months+* Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior MySQL DBA to join our engineering team and own database operations within the company. You should have experience with large scale MySQL environments and a knack for problem solving and optimization. Qualified candidates will be responsible for pushing the limits of scalability through our specialized single-shard technology and cross-functional collaboration with all engineering groups at company--you will be responsible for helping deliver high quality online, mobile MMOs, and your work will be seen by tens of millions of global players in the future! *RESPONSIBILITIES* • Develop strategies to scale out MySQL deployment in multiple DCs. • Setup and support MySQL master/master, master/slaves replication servers. • Design and implement tools to automate database operation and monitoring. • Plan and execute tests of fault tolerant capabilities, including: backup/recovery, replication, cluster failover and disaster recovery • Problem analysis, solution determination, modification, and documentation. • Measure and analyze MySQL and HBase performance and implement changes to improve performance. • Perform database load testing and benchmarking. • Plan and participate in software development from inception to completion. • 24X7 on-call rotation *QUALIFICATIONS:* • Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science, Computer Science or similar areas or equivalent work experience • Must have *5+ years of MySQL and Linux experience in an intensive, high-traffic*, web-based, multi-threading applications on multi-core architecture environment. • Must have expert level knowledge in MySQL 5.5+, complete understanding of different engines and related utilities such as *Percona *Toolkit, mysqladmin etc. • Must have experience with MySQL *monitoring tools* (i.e., *nagios*, cacti, *Graphite*, splunk, *OpenTSDB*, etc.) • *Redis* experience is a big plus • Must have experience in backup/recovery/*failover methods* and best practices. • Must have experience in scripting languages, such as PHP, *Shell,* Perl, Python, etc. • *Must be the type to take ownership of problems discovered and be able to exceed in a fast paced environment* • Experience with HBase/Hadoop/MapR/Cassandra/Mongo Administration is a big plus. *Regards,* * Ning* *West Coast Consulting, LLC* *Work – 949 743 0065 x 202 • Direct -949 800 5351* *Fax – 714 844 9091 * *ning**@westcoastllc.com* <r...@westcoastllc.com> *www.westcoastllc.com* <http://www.westcoastllc.com/> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP or Oracle Financials" group.
