* Job Description: *Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve
common and complex business issues within established guidelines and
recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse
complexity and scope. Acts as a team or project leader providing direction
to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision
making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined
policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle
most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on
complex business issues.
* Job Qualifications: *- Typically a technical Bachelor's degree or
equivalent experience and a minimum of 7 years of related experience or a
Master's degree and a minimum of four years of experience.
- 7 or more years of experience with data warehousing including work on
ETL.
- Familiarity with data warehouse design concepts and Kimball methodology
in particular.
- An understanding of RDBMS databases such Oracle and SQL in general.
- Familiarity with PL/SQL and UNIX shell scripting.
Job Specific Skills/Special Functions:
- 6 or more years of experience writing code (such as, and not limited to,
C, PL/SQL, Unix Shell scripting; databases like Oracle/SQLServer; and
Testing tools.
- Advance understanding of modern software design and development
methodologies.
- Advance understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management).
- Advance understanding of testing tools and unit test scripting, and
testing methodologies.
- An understand of performing ETL without the use of ETL tools.
- An understanding of Oracle Database Administration.
- Familiarity with the UNIX operating system.
- Understanding of quality and security standards.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Participates as the lead of a development team; may architect changes for
others.
- Performs analysis of functional and business requirements. Completes code
and reviews code of others, to implement solutions.
- Contributes to design activities; may design solutions.
- Applies in-depth or broad technical knowledge to maintain one or more
technology areas (e.g. Database Administration, ETL Design).
- Designs, prepares and executes Unit tests.
- Applies HP and 3rd party technologies to software solutions of high
complexity.
- Independently implements end-user or enterprise infrastructure of
moderate complexity or services prepared by more senior technologist for
more complex solutions.
