Position : DevOps w/ PHP/Laravel Location : Denver, CO or Cherry Hill, NJ Duration : 6-12+Months *No H1B Or OPT'S* *Must Be Local TO CO, NJ Face To Face Interview* Primary Responsibilities: Support frequent deployments of PHP/Laravel application to multiple Linux LAMP nodes in all environments (dev, qa, production). In a backup role, support another DevOps engineer supporting Java application server deployments of WAR, EAR files. Continuously strive to automate all current manual deployment of application releases to lower environments based on commits/merges to code repos. Perform routine Linux System Administration tasks, including security patches, system upgrades, backups, and security awareness. Act as subject matter expert during the deployment of new and existing initiatives/systems, including enhancements, performance, upgrades, updates, and patches if applicable. Create and maintain documentation for supported systems, policies and services Provide occasional on-call support and off-hours maintenance work Excellent troubleshooting skills with Linux operating systems, LAMP stack, and PHP applications. Ability to work among multiple teams and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical teammates Daily interaction with developers and participation in the development process Identifying & improving key areas of an application / environment to ensure peak performance, uptime and security Partnering with support teams to enhance monitoring and tooling to minimize MTTR Required Skills: Intermediate Linux System Administration supporting Centos6/7 systems w/experience in load-balanced web servers. Must have experience supporting production systems. Experience with basic Linux System maintenance tasks such as file system monitoring, partition re-sizing, and account management. Good bash shell scripting skills. Python and Ruby skills are a plus. Prior or current programming experience in PHP MySQL administration, tuning, replication, and backups. Oracle DB experience a plus. Experience supporting PHP applications deployed on LAMP stack. Expert level knowledge administrating the LAMP stack is a must. Basic knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, AJAX, SQL, Javascript Basic knowledge of how Webservices (SOAP/REST) and their consumption Experience supporting a team Gitlab instance, which includes testing upgrade scenarios. Familiarity with Web development tools such as Phpstorm, Eclipse, Sublime, PHPSpec, and PHPUnit, SASS, Gulp, NPM, Bower Experience with automation frameworks such as ansible, puppet, chef, salt stack, or xCat. Experience with deployment, configuration, and setting up monitoring alerts using open source monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Check-Mk. Understanding basic load balancer concepts such as a GSLB, VIPs, rolling upgrades with no downtime, etc. Understanding of best practices of Network and Systems Security (SSL, TLS, SSH, Public Key Encryption, Firewalls basics, IPtables, Selinux, etc.) Software release experience (min 2+ years) Basic understanding of Java WAR/EAR file deployment to Java Application Servers (Tomcat, Jboss, Weblogic) Comfortable learning independently and asking for help Intermediate knowledge of GIT which includes creating branches, create tags, and performing merges when necessary.
