Provide technical expertise and lead junior developers
· Design PL/SQL implementations
· Convert existing JAVA processes to PL/SQL
· Optimize existing PL/SQL packages
· Document Technical Specifications
· Automate UNIT testing for PL/SQL packages
· Provide metrics and project planning updates for the development
effort
*Qualifications:*
*Must have: *
* *
· 5 years of development experience – at least 5 years experience
with Oracle PL/SQL
· Expertise in advanced PL/SQL techniques in a 9i or 10g environment
· Expertise in SQL tuning of large database environments (1+
terabytes)
· Experience programming PL/SQL batch environment utilizing large
tables and high transaction throughput requirements
· Demonstrated experience using Oracle Collections, bulking
techniques, partition utilization to increase performance
· Demonstrated experience in above in a production environment.
· Must be very strong in pl/sql and query writing
· Should be able to write packages, procedures, functions, and
triggers as well as be able to create tables with constraints and that are
indexed.
· Good DDL and DML writing skills are essential as well as being
able to write complex queries for reporting
· Candidate also needs to be familiar with writing dynamic sql, and
using bulk collects
· Should be able to tune your own code as well as existing code
· Needs to be able to read and write technical documents and specs
· Must be comfortable working in a data mart/data warehouse
· Should be able to use SQLLDR to load data files. Tools we use are
TOAD, SqlPlus, UltraEdit.
· Should have some UNIX skills
· Need to be able to manipulate files and move data round a server
and from one server to another
· Editors include Vi, Hot Vt, Reflection and our scheduler is
Autosys
· Must be able to read and write shell scripts
· A basic knowledge of C, Perl, and Perl scripting is preferred but
not necessary
· Must have knowledge of how version control works
· Strong knowledge and use of development, methodologies, standards
and procedures
· Ability to multi-task and provide expertise for multiple
development teams across concurrent project tasks
· Ability to provide technical expertise to junior team members and
consult with other application developers to tune and performance test new
and existing code base
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills
· Excellent teaming and leadership skills
