Must have exp with DB2 UDB on Linux, Unix, and Windows
*Responsibilities:*
This work effort involves providing ongoing DB2 UDB DBA maintenance support
for DB2 application databases on Sun Solaris and Windows in all environments
(development, validation, integration, and production
The application supported is a distributed DB2 UDB database in multiple
States that utilizes IBM's Content Manager to track disability documents
through the claim process. The resource will be required to create korn
shell scripts to manage/automate the routine release process, database
maintenance scripts, and will monitor the database performance.
Direct interaction with the development team will be required.
*Requirements:*
7 years experience as a DBA supporting DB2 UDB on LUW (Linux, UNIX and
Windows) - most recently at Version 9.5 or 9.7
Experience with creating and maintaining korn shell scripts
Advance korn shell scripting experience preferred.
Experience in performance tuning of databases including application and SQL
tuning
Experience in different database backup and recovery methods
Knowledge of Java, Websphere application server preferred.
Experience supporting IBM's Content Manager in a distributed environment
Knowledge of Quest DBA tools
Experience in database migration to DB2 UDB v9.7
Additional experience as a programmer accessing DB2 databases in a
distributed environment.
*Education:*
An undergraduate degree (BA/BS) from an accredited university in Computer
Science, Information Technology or a computer related field with 11years of
professional experience at least 7 of which is DBA support of DB2 UDB
databases on Sun Solaris and/or Windows, or a Masters degree in Computer
Science, Information Technology or a computer related field with 11 years of
professional experience.
*Candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance prior to
beginning work*
