Position:Business Analyst Location: NYC,NY Duration:6+months Description: Senior business analyst to work on strategic projects with the Investments and Risk Management business. Must have experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business. Helps define overall business strategy of affiliated departments with regards to technology Provides regular communication to executives regarding progress to goals Assures alignment of development efforts and business goals Maintains and manages prioritization process for affiliated departments Provides project level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation(requirements, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals …etc) Key Items we will be looking for Business experience – securities industry or asset management business. Specific knowledge of derivatives a plus Technology background – software development lifecycle, familiarity with n-tier architecture and data warehouse/BI technologies. Some development background a plus. Databases/data analysis – Understanding of relational databases, and knowledge of SQL. Experience with reporting packages and data warehouses a plus. Should have some management competencies Leadership skills Strategic thinker At least 5-7 years of experience in the technology or financial services industry. Potential projects Rollout of investments data warehouse with portfolio, risk, security, counterparty, and transaction data. Rollout of risk management systems, with portfolio level analytics, security risk modeling, and risk limit management.
