Position: TIBCO Technical Architect Location: LP, TX Duration: 6 Months Our Client is looking for a TIBCO Technical Architect over application development.. This isn't a contract to hire position, but there is the possibility that they could hire this person if all goes well. TIBCO Architect with strong technical, analytical and team interaction skills Key Responsibilities & Requirements The main responsibilities and requirements of this role are: * Provide guidance throughout the full SDLC including: o Analysis - Review and provide input to requirements gathered from the business. o Architecture - Produce architecture documentation for strategic and tactical projects. Define and extend architecture best practices. o Technical Design - Design and document solutions before implementation. Review designs produced by other team members or other teams. o Development - Guide and review implementations done by other team members, including off-shore. Implement integration solutions that fit into existing frameworks. o Testing - Support System & User Acceptance testing. Conduct performance and load testing when required. o Production Support - Work with support teams to diagnose and solve issues after production migration (as an escalation point). * Understand TIBCO middleware products and related technologies o TIBCO EMS - Comprehensive understanding of EMS configurations including security (authentication models, authorization, encryption), destinations (topics, queues, and temporary destinations), message bridging, message routing. o TIBCO Rendezvous - General understanding of RV concepts including service, network, and daemon settings, broadcast versus multicast, RV debugging capabilities. o TIBCO Business Works - Comprehensive understanding of BW development and deployment concepts. Detailed understanding of BW palettes (especially JMS, File, FTP, JDBC, HTTP, XML, Mail, Parse, SOAP/Service/Policy, AE Adapter, Java). Detailed understanding of data mapping/transformation. Familiarity with shared libraries. Detailed understanding of deployment options including experience using scripted deployments. o TIBCO Active Database and File Adapter - Detailed understanding of ADB Adapter configuration options. Familiarity with File Adapter and its capabilities. o TIBCO Runtime Agent/Hawk - Familiarity with TRA architecture. Experience with Hawk rule base definition and deployment. o XML - Detailed understanding of XML schema definitions, XSL transformation, XML parsing and rendering. o Web Services - Familiarity with SOAP, WSDL, and security policies. o SSL -- Understanding of SSL (or TLS) including certificate usage and validation. o EDI - General understanding EDI (X.25). Experience with EDI schema specification and parsing products is strongly preferred. o Java - Experience with java development and usage within Business Works. o Database - familiarity with relational databases (Oracle primarily). Understanding of tables, views, PL/SQL, indexes, constraints, triggers. o Unix - Proficient with Unix commands and shell scripts. Prefer experience with both Solaris and Linux (Redhat). * Analysis o Capable of learning the existing business functionality and working with the business to identify changes that will improve the system. o Able to explain technical concepts to others using non-technical language. o Comfortable gathering requirements and turning them into a functional specification in language the business can understand. o Adept with producing architecture and design deliverables to support functional requirements. o Ability to organize a meeting and control the meeting agenda. * Team interaction o Ability to interact well with other development, support and business teams. o Ability to interact well within own team: o Assigning development tasks to team members. o Explaining application issues, design tradeoffs, and solutions with team members. o Helping with Knowledge Transfer for new team members. * General o Strategic "end-to-end" thinker. o Quick learner of new technologies. o Ability to work independently with limited guidance and multitask effectively. o Comfortable leading off-shore developers.
