HI Associates, We are seeking 2 – 3 Web Engineers - (JavaScript, CSS, HTML/XHTML, Web Standards) for a long term project in Detroit, MI
Location: Detroit, MI Duration: 6 + mo (potentially up to 2 years) Rate: $48/hr C2C Interview: Phone/Skype (might need F2F so local candidates are strongly preferred) *Web Engineer - (JavaScript, CSS, HTML/XHTML, Web Standards)* *Position Summary:* A software engineer is a specialized web developer that works on a project-by-project basis with other engineers, business and marketing team members to create an intuitive experience for website visitors and clients. This includes consulting designers, project planning, and working with other software engineers integrating user interface and page layout with business logic and web application frameworks in a high-energy environment. *Primary Duties and Responsibilities:* * *Build Great Web Sites: work with other engineers, developers, architects, QA, system engineers and project managers in solving new and existing technical challenges; - Talk the Talk, Walk the Walk: understand requirements, implement designs, provide administration tools and documentation for specific projects; - Be There When Needed: perform scheduled on-call duties; - Speak Up: participate in Design and Code Reviews; - Find A Better Way: follow and enhance existing development processes; Measure and verify that new and old code has acceptable performance and scalability; - Maintain ownership of the projects assigned; - Get It Done: deliver accurate estimates, provide regular feedback and consistently meet project deadlines; *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* * *Exceptional Web Standards Development Experience: four (4) + years of Web Standards-compliant HTML/XHTML, CSS, DHTML experience, including semantic markup, search engine optimization, and accessibility compliance; - Hardcore JavaScript Experience: two (2) + years of modern ECMAScript/JavaScript implementation experience, preferably including JavaScript framework development (YUI, JQuery, etc.) and object-oriented programming philosophy; - Plays Nice With Others: collaborative development experience; - Laser Vision: superb attention to detail; - Experience with PHP 5 recommended; - Strong experience in building e-Commerce user interfaces; - Related experience in software testing and design desired; - Team-oriented experience highly desired; - Excellent oral and written communication skills regardless of audience; *Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:* Bachelor’s degree in software development, interactive design/art or equivalent work experience; - Established portfolio of work and/or code samples *Physical Requirements:* Must be able to effectively write and modify code for 8 plus hours/day We are an equal opportunity employer.
