Job Title: Front End Designer Location: Raleigh, NC Duration: 12+ month Job Requirements The candidate will be involved with creating wireframes, UI elements, pages, and layout templates for both static and SharePoint environments, based on the needs of the various NCDOT business units. This contractor must be comfortable working in environments with large content management systems like SharePoint. Responsibilities will include: - Design and building of interfaces for our internal clients using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Balsamiq Mockups and text editors - Adding inter-activity to pages using jQuery, Javascript and CSS - Updating/editing HTML/JavaScript/CSS of existing content - Maintaining site branding and design standards across all pages - Building site templates with master pages - Creation/editing of data-driven SharePoint web-part pages, as well as pages containing static HTML content - Clearly communicating status reports, in verbal and written form - Collaborating as a dedicated team member and demonstrating the ability to clearly communicate with other team members Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Required skills and abilities: - Minimum of two (2) years of front end design/development experience - Ability to generate wireframes and story boards before diving into Photoshop - Ability to effectively organize and present large amounts of content to end users - Experience with the following technologies: CSS, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, Photoshop, Illustrator, Visual Studio, Notepad++, VIM, SharePoint Designer, & Microsoft Office 2010 Preferred Skills: - Minimum of (1) year of SharePoint page editing and front end design/branding experience - Ability to create designs that work well in mobile, using techniques like responsive web design - Experience with page prototyping with paper or mockup software - Knowledge in the UX area - Experience with customizing the SharePoint settings that define the look and feel of SharePoint sites - Knowledge of XML and XSLT - Knowledge of information architecture - Experience in working with developers integrating web applications into SharePoint ...............................................................................................................................................................................
