Title: Mechanical Engineer posted on 2014-04-08 15:27:43 Job Description:*Title:* *Mechanical Engineer* *Duration:* Full time *Location:* New Orleans, Louisiana *Job Description* We are seeking candidates for a Mechanical Engineering opportunity within our chemical manufacturing complex. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for managing mechanical capital improvement projects and daily maintenance support activities to ensure the overall mechanical integrity of equipment within the unit. *MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Estimating and directing construction of Process Maintenance or process improvement projects. * Keep updated list of inspection data and repairs for Boilers and tanks/pressure vessels which are inspected on a routine basis. * Organize and maintain equipment files * Implement capital projects to improve unit operations, reduce hazards, reduce operation/maintenance cost, and reduce energy usage/cost. * Define job scope and develop specifications necessary to complete the job at a minimum cost while meeting PSM regulations. * Experience in static , rotating , piping and pumps required * Experience in Sulfuric Acid plant, Corrosion experience desired * Technical expert for all rotating equipment in department. * Manage spending for all capital projects in the department. (Capital Coordinator) * Interface with operators to resolve problems before equipment availability affects the site's performance.
