Title: AS 400 / iSeries AS/400 / Data Center / NOC technician / Network Technician posted on 2014-04-11 13:35:18 Job Description: *Job Description* : A network operations analyst is responsible to monitor the operation of a datacenter environment and various hardware platforms. Recognizes, diagnoses, and independently acts on hardware and software malfunctions and error situations to insure processing is in accordance to instructions. Submits, holds, or releases batch jobs as required. Recognizes issues and performs escalation and notification activities to appropriate senior operations or systems staff of problems. Performs system back up, system/server restarts, loads system software, and performs all routine tasks associated with the operation of a mainframe or server platform. Develops and implements problem resolution procedures. *Responsibilities * ** 7x24 network operations center supporting multiple platforms o AS/400* o Windows servers o Cisco network o Sun Systems * Perform routine maintenance, job processing and attempt to detect, diagnose and resolve any anomalies. * Evaluates real-time system performance, takes appropriate authorized standard actions and notifies appropriate senior operations or systems staff of problems. * Performs all routine tasks associated with the operation of a mainframe or server platform. * Initiate Incident Management procedures to facilitate resolution of any anomalies that requires additional resources to resolve. * Maintain an accurate log of all scheduled and non-scheduled events and actions taken to address them. * Assist with problem management initiatives to facilitate root cause of any anomalies. *Education: * *Additional Job Details:* *Qualifications:** 3+ Years Experience as a Computer Operator * 3+ Years Experience with monitoring systems * Ability to work week-end and different time shifts as required Desirable Skills: * Excellent written and oral communication skills and possess a detail oriented work ethic. * Candidate must be able to work diligently without the need for close supervision. * Skilled in: time, priority and task management and organization * Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members * Ability to anticipate problems, resolve ambiguity and take decisive action * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Good ability to analyze and solve complex problems using analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of networks * Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
