This role participates on multiple, technically complex, mission-critical, and/or high-profile data projects or initiatives simultaneously. This individual must possess senior leadership and management skills including the ability to make sound data architectural recommendations. This role must have a passion for providing ‘best practices’ and data solutions to meet the data needs of the business. Position Description The Solution Architect is the overseer of the data architecture design and solution for the retail centric data warehouse and BI reporting framework Works with project managers, program managers; Guides other architects and technologies to design a deliver a comprehensive solution Responsible for managing detailed data analysis, gap analysis, data discovery, translates business requirements into conceptual and logical data models Serve as a liaison between the business experts/users and the project technical team to ensure the users requirements are understood and interpreted correctly by the technical team Bridges gaps across business areas, operational business units, infrastructure team, business intelligence and Data Warehouse development teams Assesses readiness of technical solutions and hardware including systems, tools, technologies, and processes Position Qualifications Minimum Type and Years of Related Experience Required: 10-15 years - Overall IT Experience including 8 years at a management/architect level 8-10 years – Solution Architecture, Solutions Designing, Data Analysis and BI solutions delivery 8-10 years – Deploying Enterprise models across complex environments (both physical and logical) 8-10 years – Expert skills in development and documentation of complex Enterprise Data Warehouse data sourcing and transformation requirements 8-10 years – Expert skills in conducting Data Analysis, Data Profiling and Data Discovery on disbursed operational source systems 6-8 years – MPP Database experience with Teradata required. SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 preferred 6-8 years - Leading technical project efforts including project planning, design, build, test, and data conversion/migration as well as report design and builds 6-8 years – Data Architecture: application, reporting frameworks, processing, availability and scalability 6-8 years - Translating business and technical requirements into a solid technical design and solution to include architecture diagrams and design documents for a multi-client environment 6-8 years - Advanced skills in using the 3 or more of the following modeling techniques: MDM, ERD, Temporal, Generic & Reusable, or Time-variant, 3rd Normal Form, 4th Normal Form, Column aggregations 6-8 years – BI-Solutions: Architecture, Design and Development of data marts, business semantic views and reporting models 4-6 years - Erwin, ETL, PL/SQL, ANSI SQL or other development language 4-6 years – Data integration architecture understanding and architecture skills leveraging tools but not limited to IBM DataStage, Informatica and/or Abinitio Advance technical understanding and knowledge of tools and products used in Enterprise Data Warehousing and data integration: Oracle, DB2, Teradata, SQL Server, in a distributed environment utilizing MPP, SMP, SOA, WOA, MDM, CDI and/or BUS architecture for enterprise data volumes (10TB+) Minimum Education Requirements: BS/MS/MBA/MA degree, applicable certifications or equivalent experience is required .
