*JOB DESCRIPTION*
*Location:* San Diego, CA
*Duration:* 1+ year
*Job Title:* Test Automation Engineer (Senior)
*Reports To:* Test Manager
*Function:* a) Develop and executed automated test
suites using Selenium/Java based framework and custom tools;
b) Integrate test suites into the test management system and custom test
harnesses; and,
c) perform other testing-related duties as required.
*Duties and Responsibilities* A. Technical
¤ Ability to work in Agile environment
¤ Review requirements, specifications, user documentation, help files, and
other project documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to
be developed; i.e., perform manual static testing.
¤ Provide and quantify alternative designs to solve technical issues (as
related to assigned portion of project) as they arise
¤ Select and develop appropriate test automation tools, applying the
latest techniques in test automation; e.g., data-driven testing.
¤ Use risk-driven techniques to develop, maintain, and execute automated
test suites for various Software products; i.e., perform automated dynamic
testing.
¤ Work with the Development team to capture and reuse automated Unit Test
Cases, Test Stubs and Drivers, and other Development test objects.
¤ Participate in the Daily SCRUM/Stand-up meeting to provide status and
forecast /identify the quality implications of known bugs and the impact of
proposed changes to product definition on the Test Automation process.
¤ Work with the Release Engineering team to create and maintain an
automated nightly build verification ("smoke") test and light's off
execution of automated regression suites
¤ Work closely with the Infrastructure, Platform and Development groups to
define the test environments, regions, and access and data requirements,
for Automation tests to be run as well as to analyze the test results and
recommend optimizations.
¤ Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test
objects developed and test environments used.
B. Results Tracking and Reporting
¤ Analyze field issues and performs root cause analysis to improve
coverage of existing test suites and improve effectiveness of existing
processes.
¤ Determine test cases that are candidates for test automation, what
technology to use to automate, automate and execute test case
¤ Update test execution status following agreed-upon processes as part of
regularly-scheduled test status updates.
¤ Trace test cases and results back to specific quality risks.
¤ Assist the Test Manager in the creation of test project status reports
and metrics (e.g., Test Dashboard).
C. Skill-sets
¤ 3-5+ years of software testing experience, with minimum of 6 months of
experience in working on SCRUM development processes
¤ 1+ years of hands-on experience with testing (including automated
testing) of desk-top and web based applications
¤ Development experience with Object Oriented Languages (OOD)
Java/J2EEWell-versed with one or more scripting language like JavaScript,
Perl, Python, VBScript
¤ Good experience on Selenium or other open source and commercial-grade
tools
¤ Platform : Primary - Linux/Unix; Secondary - Windows
