Software Engineer to work on critical web products such as career sites for
federal agencies and state governments that help attract candidates and put
people back to work. Need a talented software developer who thrives in a

world class solutions.  Working closely with cross-functional teams
including: Sales, Product Specialists, UX Designers, Copy Writers,

Role Responsibilities:

·         Design, develop, enhance, and maintain .NET applications and web
services, including all tiers of the application; UI, code-behind,
controls, business components, database layer, etc.

·         Participate in Agile development lifecycle, working closely with
technical, design, and product teams

·         Provide input and execute on efforts to improve the efficiency
and quality of our development projects

·         Investigate and analyze reported defects in a timely manner, and
recommend solutions to these problems including code changes, data updates,
or configuration modifications



Required Skills:

·         Minimum of 2 years of software development experience
(non-academic) with demonstrable experience and fundamental understanding
of the .NET Framework including C#, ASP.NET <http://asp.net/>, XML, web
services, data structures and collections, caching, configuration, etc.

·         Strong fundamental and hands-on knowledge of with MS SQL Server

·         Understanding of the web application development process,
including compilation/building, deployment, and source control

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment



Preferred Skills:

·         Knowledge of MVC and WebForms applications

·         Experience designing and implementing dynamic, personalized,
database-driven, large-scale, high-volume commercial web sites

·         Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as JQuery and Angular

The Applications Office is seeking a Senior Web Developer to work with the
MassAnalytics team.  This engagement will be focused on Homeless Database
and Public Housing project teams to develop, troubleshoot, debug and
implement software code such as, but not limited to, HTML, CSS, CGI,
JavaScript, ASP and Perl for web page and web applications in accordance
with internal standards.



*Primary Responsibilities:*

·         Defines objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisions
system features and functionality.

·         Designs and develops user interfaces by setting expectations and
features priorities throughout development life cycle; completing
programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting
tests.

·         Designs database architecture and server scripting; establishes
connectivity with network systems and information servers.

·         Creates multimedia applications by using authoring tools.

·         Completes applications development by coordinating requirements,
schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting
development and production problems across multiple environments and
operating platforms.

*Job Description*

*Must Haves*

   - 3-4 years Java/J2EE development on Linux/Unix
   - Application framework (no UI)
   - SOA Web Services development and exposure to SOAP and XML
   - Experience with one out of the three: Tomcat, WAS, or Apache OR Oracle
   application server
   - Working knowledge with relational databases - preferably Oracle or DB2
   – Must be competent in Oracle but not in DB2



*Day to Day:*

*% breakdown of daily duties*

   - This role is 100% middleware (behind the browser)
   development/middle-server side programming
   - They will be refactoring existing code, making modification, and
   enhancements eventually.
   - There will be no new development at first. Will be using Web services
   to take stuff that has been glued into the UI and refractor that code into
   the middle tier.
   - The UI of the application has some things that need to be brought into
   the middleware space
   - There are some smaller additional projects they will also be involved
   in dealing with configuration tools for reporting.
   - They will not be doing any support, just development. Not required to
   do any business analysis work or documentation.

   - Working to understand business requirements, work closely with other
   developers, and be committed to the highest-level quality.
   - Working closely with user community for project definition and with
   other technical groups in a highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary
   environment.
   - Develop, enhance, maintain and fix *middleware* and web applications
   - Work under moderate direction
   - Develop clear and concise documents of moderately complex scope
   - Provide application support by serving as an on-call resource in
   support of the organization's service and escalation model
   - Solid understanding of the software development process including
   analysis, design, coding, unit testing, system testing, problem resolution,
   project planning and release management

   - Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience
   - 3-4 years of professional software development experience
