Job Description:Hi, *Job Title : QA Manager* *Client : Travelers* *Location : HARTFORD, CT* *Duration : 6 Months Contract – Hire* *Pay Rate : $Open* *Only GC's and Citizen.* *Job Description:* Bond and Financial Products is seeking an IT professional to Manage Quality Assurance delivery. The QA Manager will manage a distributed team of QA professionals in delivering QA services across one or more technology platforms. This leader will also collaborate with the QA Center of Excellence and the IT Extended Leadership Team to engineer quality into software development processes. *JOB QUALIFICATIONS* - 5 or more years of successful delivery in Information Technology, with a concentration in Quality Assurance, demonstrating a progression of increasing supervisory span of control. - Ability to provide thought leadership on Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering concepts. - Broad understanding of IT software development lifecycles. - Experience with Data Warehouse testing - Practical experience with Agile and/or Kanban delivery methodology preferred. - Sound business and technical acumen. - Ability to navigate matrixed organizations effectively. - Proven ability to influence and earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate members of teams; resolve conflict; overcome obstacles; execute with limited information and ambiguity. - Focused; results oriented; diligent. - Ability to communicate with clarity, poise, maturity and precision both written and verbally across various organizational levels. - Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. - Able to lead staff across multiple geographic locations and time zones. Experience with global sourcing. *PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES* QA Delivery - Manage a team of QA professionals to ensure appropriate QA Strategies and Test Plans are defined and implemented for assigned Programs & Projects. - Drive the application of Travelers and Industry standard Quality Assurance concepts, tools, and techniques within assigned teams and projects. Participate in defining the roadmap for continuous evolution of QA practices. - Perform QA resource demand management, ensuring the right/enough staff are assigned to each Project (within budgetary constraints) at the right time and that they have capacity to be successful. Optimize the use of all available resources. Quality Engineering - Partner with the QA Center of Excellence and the IT Extended Leadership Team to design quality into software development processes and reduce dependence on testing for quality. - Drive defect detection earlier in the software development lifecycle and reduce defect density. - Provide meaningful metrics to track progress. Vendor Management - Leverage the QA Managed Service and Staff Augmentation models with on and offshore global sourcing vendors to staff initiatives. - Ensure staff from global partners on assigned initiatives are meeting or exceeding service level objectives and delivering expected value. Leadership - Member of the Line of Business IT Extended Leadership Team. - Set appropriate goals for assigned team and monitor progress against them. - Maintain engagement with project teams on a regular basis and remove obstacles to their success. - Embrace team values and model the way. - Serve as a change agent for new techniques and approaches. Business Knowledge & Partnership - Ensure plans and execution aligns with and support Division and Enterprise level business and IT strategies and objectives. Financial Management - Provide estimates of QA effort and cost on assigned initiatives. - Effectively manage QA spending within budget limits on assigned initiatives.
