Technical Skills:
Minimum 4 years experience with Oracle and administering database platforms
(experience with export/import, policy, replication, database security
techniques, schema & tablespace management, backup and recovery, software
installation, data guard, real application clustering, database auditing
etc).
Minimum 4 years demonstrated ability and success using debug and
problem-solving skills.
Minimum 4 years using SQL (DML, DDL) for Oracle.
Minimum 4 years demonstrated experience managing performance tuning
(statement and/or database).
Minimum 4 years experience working in Linux / Solaris environments.
Minimum 4 years database design including system architecture exposure.
Minimum 2 years Data Modeling with normalization.
Minimum 2 years experience with implementing data models to physical DBMS.
Minimum 2 years demonstrated experience using ERwin.
Non - Technical Skills:
Minimum 4 years as part of team implementing solutions using a Systems
Development Lifecycle Methodology.
Miinimum 2 years preparing and delivering verbal and written communications
which are well organized, accurate and concise.
Minimum 2 years demonstrated ability to conduct and/or lead discussions with
Business Partners and Senior Technology Leadership.
Minimum 2 years mentoring others on sound database practices.
Nice to Have Skills:
Familiarity with Oracle OEM Console
Familiarity with PL / SQL Developer
Familiarity with network attached storage solutions
Basic understanding of Java (including JDO), Korn Shell and working
knowledge of Perl.
Exposure to other database technologies.
Exposure to different development models (e.g. Agile, Waterfall)
Minimum 2 years Airline experience

Job Responsibilities:
The individual in this role has primary responsibility for supporting
completed applications as they run your business operations. Operational DBA
work focuses on assuring availability, optimizing efficiency, and promoting
usability. This person is responsible for:
Performance - the optimization of resource usage to increase throughput and
minimize contention, enabling the largest possible workload to be processed
Administration - day-to-day tasks of keeping databases up and running
including change management, reviewing database structures, security and
authorization, and like tasks
Recovery - backup and recovery is the process of taking appropriate database
backups of the appropriate type at the proper time to ensure recoverability
There will be on-call rotation with this position.
Team Information:
The Oracle DBA Team currently has 16 Team Members, not including Leadership.
The primary responsibility for this position is partnering with Application
Teams in defining data requirements, building logical and physical data
models, partnering with the Operational Database Administrators for physical
implementation of the models and managing the development Oracle database
environment. This team includes both Production and Development DBAs
supporting operational and decision support application efforts.
