Analyze functional requirements and prepare technical requirements. This includes: preparation of UML diagrams; specification of methods and algorithms; database design; XML schema design; development of test cases. 2. Follow system architecture (Spring, Hibernate, and associated technologies) and development strategy (RAD, CVS, Maven) put in place for the applyUC project. 3. Develop Java code; develop and execute unit tests. Modules include online and back-end (batch) processes. 4. Participate in build and code maintenance processes adopted by the team. 5. Participate in code reviews. 6. Work closely with QA test team. Skills, Education, and Experience 1. Five years of progressively complex application development/software engineer experience. 2. Clear oral and written communication skills. 3. Ability to work independently. 4. BS degree or equivalent experience. 5. Training and expertise in object-oriented analysis and design and Java programming. 6. Expertise in Java / J2EE programming: * Spring Framework 2.5 (Dependency Injection, AOP) * Spring MVC, Security, &Batch 2.0 * Hibernate 3.0, DB2, SQL * Javascript/JQuery, Ajax/DWR * XML/XSLT * Caching * JUnit * Apache, Websphere * RAD, CVS, Maven * Linux O/S 7. Experience with database design. 8. Experience programming both web-based applications and offline batch processes. 9. Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills. 10. Experience with open source development tools. 11.
