Lead Oracle Database Administrator (New York, NY)
Our client, a premier center of excellence in health care and medical
research seeks a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join their team.
*Technology /Skills:*
- 4+ years work experience as DBA
- Solid Oracle 10g, 11i
- MySQL , a plus
- Experience on PeopleSoft Financial is a plus.
*Responsibilities:*
- Preparation and Execution of Detailed Plans For:
- Database Upgrades
- Database Creation
- Database Backup and Recovery
- Trouble Shooting database Performance
- Database Monitoring
- Tuning SQL scripts and database Performance
- Work with application development team and vendor to gather and
implement database requirements
- Be available for 24x7 On-call Database Support
- Strong problem solving ability. Be able to work independently on
identifying and fixing database problems
- Play a lead role in implementation of database standards and
procedures
- Lead/Supervise other DBAs on database projects
- Assume Lead role in the research and development of new database
features and scripts used in database management
- Ability to work on multiple projects at a time
- Provide prompt detailed report/explanations (root cause analysis,
corrective measures) to Database Manager on database warnings, errors or
failures.
- Liaison with database manager, DBA team and application teams on the
management of database outages.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
* Education:*
Graduate of a 4 year degree program
