Job Title: *Hadoop Administrator* Location: Charlotte,NC Duration: 3-6 Months Contract Rate : DOE. *Job Description: * The Hadoop Administrator position will maintain Hadoop Clusters in Linux environment to provide optimal performance and system availability. Responsibilities include integrating with enterprise systems, monitoring, scheduling. The Hadoop admin will develop required scripts/programs for advanced administrative tasks using shell scripting, Java, C++ or equivalent. A strong understanding of hardware choices in relation to performance goals is desired. He/she will be working on new and existing projects using Agile practices. T he person needs to be able to learn new tools and programming languages with limited access to formal education. *Responsibilities / Additional Information: * Responsible for detailed troubleshooting and maintenance of Hadoop Clusters. These services will coordinate the interaction of external systems with a Netezza database, Talend. Ensuring solutions are secure. Providing level 3 technical support for production applications. May require some after-hours responsibilities. Keeping appropriate support documentation. *Required Skills: * Possess strong Linux experience 5+ years and related technologies. Prefer 4 year degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, physics or other technical degree. Proficiency in both C++ And Java Desired experience with Hadoop and related technologies Very large datasets with billions of records and multiple TBs of data Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools. Requires excellent analytical skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Personal capacity and bandwidth to deal with multiple, complex priorities in a fast-paced environment.
