Here's the Job Description Position: Sr DB2 Developer Location: Atlanta, GA Duration: 12 Months Description: The DB2 DBA will be responsible for developing complex database systems, assisting the development teams in the design, development, and implementation of DB2 objects. The applications groups rely on the DBA for guidance on design and implementation, including Cobol / SQL stored procedures, triggers, functions and schemas. Must work well with others. Job Skills Needed: - Has 7 plus years experience as a DB2 DBA with OS/390 and/or Z/OS DB2 Version 8 is minimum Tools used in environment - Experience with IBM Development suite of tools (IBM recovery Analyzer, IBM Fast Unload) - Familiar with Rexx / Control M Control M, Z/os , ISPF/ TSO environment including SPUFI, QMF CICS - Usage of IBM utilities for Backups, Recoveries, and general DBA maintenance, must be able to learn nightly back cycles and dependencies Ensures data recovery, maintenance, data integrity, and space requirements for physical database are met through formulations and monitoring of policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management., develop recovery procedures; support recovery from loss of data caused by user or system error; respond quickly to refresh data. - Has primary responsibility for the definition, creation, and maintenance of enterprise databases and database structures within the organizations. - Works closely within DBA Team/ Operations/ Application Development groups Distributed Application knowledge (include .net, webservice interfaces, Jdbc connections) Analyzes, tests, and implements physical database design supporting various business applications (including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, and operational guidelines). - Interface with different organization for System upgrades and production Support (including DB2 upgrades, Z/os Upgrades , CICS upgrades). - Provides a high degree of coordination between user, technical and Operations staff for implementations.
