Position: Shared Tools and Data Analyst (Sharepoint/Web Development)
Location: Manhattan, NY
Duration: 1 year


Description:

The Shared Tools and Data Analyst position will support tool development
for the Risk Analysis and Crisis Management groups, which are part of CoB
Operations within the Office of Business Continuity. The position will be
play an integral role in developing new and/or enhancing existing end user
computing (EUC) solutions to enable data collection, analysis, and
reporting through streamlining and automation.

The ideal candidate should have a strong technical skillset (outlined under
the Qualifications section below), but also have experience in
understanding business challenges and demonstrate added value through
developing tools and processes to enhance or enable analytics and
management reporting capabilities.


Responsibilities:

Primary focus on the SharePoint Development / web development
Develop SharePoint components (web parts, application pages, page layouts,
etc.) for enterprise scale Portal, ECM, and Collaboration solutions

•Participate in the creation, execution and documentation and functional
requirements to ensure  that delivered solutions meet the business
requirements

•Performing unit testing and integration testing


Required Skills:

•Competent in relational database theory, design rules and development
practices, including data  modeling, data flow and entity relationship
analysis, data structure analysis, logical and  physical database design,
data access methods, storage capacity management and database recovery
 techniques.

•Proficient in SQL, SharePoint and related skills:

oStrong skills in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), with experience
developing automated  reporting.

o2 - 5 years of experience with Microsoft Access and VBA application
development.

•Hands-on experience working on component based applications in a
distributed environment

•Full software development lifecycle experience on large scale, scalable
applications

•2+ years demonstrated strong knowledge and proficiency in the following:

oSharePoint web parts development

oSharePoint solution packaging

oBusiness Connectivity Services

oService Oriented Architecture

o.NET Framework (C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net)

oWeb content management

oQA and testing procedures

oSQL Server Administration, configuration and customization of SharePoint
including developing  and implementing custom and third-party Web Parts

oHtml and CSS

oJavaScript

oThe SharePoint managed client object model

oSilverlight and XAML

oSharePoint REST APIs

oComposite Applications – includes data access, user interface, processes,
and infrastructure.

•2+ years technical lead experience in one or more of the following roles:

o  Web services development

o  Data access development

o  Application integration

o  Testing and Deployment
    User interface design
