Role : RF System Engineer Location : San Mateo, CA Duration : Open Ended (long Term) 1 RF SYSTEM ENGINEER: senior engineer who has network background and RF development experience in addition to the base qualification of RAT engineer below We are looking for an RF Engineer to join our Wireless Platform Engineering team. Successful candidate will be responsible for development and verification of cellular modem and telephony system of Sony Mobile’s cellular / wireless platform and products. He or she will be responsible for signaling conformance and network inter-operability tests (IOT) on modem and telephony SW and for analysis of protocol log data to ensure the modem’s full conformance to the specs and standards, and also for optimization of the performance of modem and telephony system. Successful candidate is expected to have full understanding of SW and HW implementation of the cellular modem and telephony system as well as theoretical knowledge and analysis skills of the network architecture and cellular protocols. Also, he or she should be responsible for development and preparation for pass through all wireless conformance and certification process and tasks including but not limited to SFN, CCF, GCF, PTCRB, as well as NV IOT and Field IOT. A RAT engineer will also collaborate with Sony Mobile’s OMV (Operator Market Validation) team, in preparation of carrier acceptance processes and test plans prior to carrier lab entrance to ensure that the modem and telephony system development is completed per design to pass. A RAT engineer is also responsible for Lab NV IOT at Field IOT. Qualifications: 1. Minimum BS degree in electrical engineering, computer software engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent required. 2. Minimum 10 years of relevant development experience in cellular networks and mobile systems and products required. 3. Minimum 6 years of development experience in 3GPP / 3GPP2 cellular modems and mobile technologies focus on CDMA, GSM/GPRS, WCDMA/UMTS and/or LTE signaling protocol is required. 4. Experience in project planning, technical leading and coordination in development of cellular product is highly required. 5. Experience in development using Qualcomm’s mobile station platform is a plus. 6.
