Position : Quality Assurance Analyst/Application Software Tester Location : Farmington, MI *Type of Hire : Fulltime.* This position is responsible for ensuring that products are measured against predetermined standards throughout the life cycle of the client system. The standards are defined by the project specifications and established Business rules. The core initiatives of the position include development, execution and tracking of test IT plans and test scripts in conjunction with the system development plan, and the management of system rework. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Performs Quality Assurance of business applications in an Oracle/Client-Server and web-based environment. Perform audit inspections and review project documentation at points throughout the development life cycle of a project to ensure all deliverables, processes, business rules, assumptions, and change requests are addressed. Create and enhance test plans incorporating all modules and deliverables when new projects are requested. Develop detailed test scripts encompassing all deliverables and modules identified in the test plan. Assign and coordinate resources and testers to create an effective and efficient project test. Train unit testers in QA practices, procedures, and techniques. Maintain and monitor project rework logs to ensure identified issues are resolved prior to program launch. Lead the tracking, analysis and resolution of potential problems within client systems. Research, evaluate, and implement quality methodologies and tools. Develop and maintain appropriate metrics to monitor quality in the development process. Create proper ISO documents when issues occur on programs moved to production. Assists in further defining IT quality process standards and recommended IT Quality Best Practices. Monitor testing sign off points to ensure program/product is ready for launch. Investigate, evaluate and recommend process improvements to system development deliverables and quality processes. Work with IS Project Management to develop and maintain reasonable quotes and time line estimates. Monitor quality benchmarks within Client Systems. Become familiar with the various business practices in which Client Systems is involved. Promote and encourage quality throughout Client Systems. Establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of persons and groups both inside and outside IS Client Systems. Administer User Acceptance Testing. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Education/Knowledge: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent required. Experience / Skill: Minimum 2 years of Quality Assurance experience in Business Applications in a development setting required. Familiarity with System Development Life Cycle methodology. Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Project Knowledge of Relational Database concepts, Oracle and SQL Server Concepts and Infrastructure, Internet/Intranet concepts, as well as Oracle Reports, Oracle Forms, SQL, TOAD, APPWORX, UNIX, Linux.
