Customer has 9 AIX application servers, 3 AIX Oracle RAC servers, a DS6700 SAN and an IBM3584 tape library subsystem. Qualifications (necessary for any candidate for this position) * Experience or certification with AIX 5.3 - 7.1 * Experience or certification with Tivoli Storage Manager Version 6.3 * Experience or certification with AIX LPAR and HMC technologies * Ability and aptitude to learn new technical skills * Good communication skills and team oriented attitude Job Responsibilities - The duties include 1) Responsible for daily support tasks for a) Baan servers and Oracle database servers b) Backup and recovery for all Memphis servers c) Maintain the IT Business Continuance plan including perform recovery plan testing 2) Perform regularly scheduled maintenance of all P-Series servers. This includes maintaining the AIX operating system 3) Assist with backup & recovery of Memphis server infrastructure using Tivoli Storage Management (TSM) 3) Server maintenance must be planned and scheduled to minimize negative impact on critical applications such as Baan and Oracle 4) Assist with analyzing problems and develop, recommend and implement solutions for those problems 5) Participate in projects: recommending technical options and solutions related to databases A general list of support tasks include * Review server logs to ensure process are running properly * Review backup logs to ensure TSM is backing up properly * Monitoring all disk storage for space issues * Run maintenance tasks to clear temporary data and reclaim space * Work with other Company associates to support applications using RS/6000 and SAN * Planning, scheduling and migrating changes to production infrastructure.
