*Interview mode: Phone than F2FJob Description:*Does not necessarily have to have a Life Sciences background. - *2-3 years JavaScript experience*. Knowledge of AngularJS, Yeoman, Grunt and Bower strongly preferred. - *2-3 years HTML and user interface experience*. - 2-3 years Java. Knowledge of Spring Framework preferred. - Experience with MongoDB desired but not essential. - Familiarity with Git source control, Jira issue tracking and Maven build control. The Data Science group in Biogen Idec has a small and agile scrum development team to support initiatives in Big Data and Data Science. We require an additional Java/JavaScript developer to take part in well-orchestrated two week sprint cycles developing a high profile application. The application UI is a single page JavaScript (AngularJS) app with build, package and deployment handled with Yeoman, Bower and Grunt. The JavaScript front end talks to the backend through a RESTful API built by Spring MVC/Data and backed by MongoDB & ElasticSearch. Source control is handled with Git and sprints are tracked using the Atlassian Jira/Agile tool suite. For the Java backend all builds and dependencies are handled with Maven. The developer will take part in the sprint cycles, pulling items off the backlog and taking on more advanced work as their experience level increases.
