*Interview mode: Phone than Skype.Job Description:*The successful candidate will play a role in leading and facilitating the design, development, and maintenance of the application roadmap. In addition, the individual will be expected to apply their experience in advancing the technical landscape of the application through the use of new features and new development paradigms supported by *OpenEdge.* Project management experience is a plus as the individual can be assigned to lead small projects, or small sub projects, which can be part of a larger project/program. This individual takes pride in the quality of their work, pays close attention to detail, strives for results, and enjoys a working environment where every day brings a new challenge. *Responsibilities:* •Creates technical program specifications using the technical system design document as part of the project lifecycle •Codes and tests programs from technical program specifications •Programs modules from technical program specifications Participate in technical roadmap discussions. •Participate in discussions to recommend application and development tool enhancements that result in increased efficiency, quality, maintainability and scalability. •Tests programs and documents results •May consult on medium to large-scale projects leading Software Engineers Provides production support, including on-call support as required •Participates in code reviews •Manages help desk tickets for support and enhancement requests •Investigates, troubleshoots and corrects data and user related system errors •Uses version control tools and Production Control for job migrations and scheduling •Participate in DR exercises, server refreshes and software upgrade •Collaborate with team members in a distributed environment with different time zones. *Education/Experience/Skills:* •Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience 5 or more years’ experience in structured analysis and design 5 or more years of programming and/or software development experience •Experience in Progress development language and database required Experience in one of the following programming languages preferred: Java, C/C , Perl, XML Knowledge of all, or some of the following software packages/utilities will be a plus: file transfer mechanisms (sftp, http, ssl, etc), MQ-Series, MS Office, Visio, Crystal Reports Experience in Unix or AIX environment is required. •At least 3 years’ experience in a financial services environment, preferably in mutual fund NAV processing •At least *2 years production support experience* •Experience in development of application technical roadmap a plus •Experience in design and development in the OO framework preferred.
