Security Administrator
Responsible for the design, configuration, implementation and support of
all LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Load-Balancers and all
other Networking and Security System infrastructure.
Provides Tier IV level support, while serving as the primary technical
resource for all Networking and Security related infrastructure within
multiple Data Centers.


*REQUIREMENTEducation:*
4-year degree in Computer Science, technical equivalent or commensurate
professional experience.
Network +, MCSE, CCNA and other relevant certifications highly desired but
not required.


*Experience: Minimum 8 years of work experience in a complex LAN/WAN
environment.*
Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), proficient
level of network, hardware and software knowledge, aptitude to effectively
learn new technologies in a timely manner and the ability to effectively
communicate technical information on a user level.

*5+ years’ experience with the following technologies is required:*
Cisco Switching & Routing
Cisco Wireless Networking
Cisco ASA Firewalls

*Experience with the following technologies is desired:*
Barracuda Load-Balancer
Cisco ISE
Avaya Phone System (TDM and VoIP)

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
•Responsible for the installation and ongoing management of the LAN, WLAN,
WAN, VPN and Security Infrastructure Technical lead responsible for the
design, implementation and support of all network and security
infrastructure throughout all Company sites.
Manages relationships and implementation of global Verizon MPLS network,
the Cisco Architecture, the Juniper VPN infrastructure, the Verizon Managed
Checkpoint environment and the local Cisco ASA firewall installations.
Functions as the Subject Matter Expert for all LAN, WLAN, WAN and Security
technologies.
•Technical lead responsible for the management of Data Centers including
physical infrastructure, data center power, generator facilities,
environmental controls, physical wiring, rack space layout, capacity
planning and documentation. Reviews and enforce security access, ensures
new equipment installations adhere to predefined standards and provide
24/7/365 facility monitoring, alerting and monthly reporting.
•Establish and maintain LAN/WLAN/WAN and Network Availability/Performance
Metric reporting on an ongoing basis with daily, weekly and monthly reviews
to identify trends and potential opportunities.
Ensure bandwidth and network resource availability, including capacity
planning and management, and provide management with detailed monthly
reports of system availability, resource outage reports and performance
metrics.
•Interface with Information Services Team maintaining the Security
Information Logging Database and to responding to any and all security
related issues.
Communicates all security related issues to senior management and IT
Operations staff members.
Manage security response teams until all identified issues are resolved.
•Function as the Corporate defined Information Security Administrator
(ISA).
Attend regular status update meetings with the local Information Security
Officer (ISO) to comply with Corporate requirements.
•Functions as Project Lead for LAN, WLAN, WAN and Security related
installations and upgrades where applicable and prepare comprehensive
project plans for all assigned projects.
Manage outside consultants, technical specifications and Statements of Work
and overall project to completion.
•Serve as a high-level technical expert and technical escalation point for
all LAN, WLAN, WAN and Security related trouble tickets while providing
Tier IV level support for all other technologies deployed
•Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all documentation and
diagrams required to support Network and Security System Infrastructure.
Ensures documentation is reviewed annually for accuracy and is updated
whenever a change is made
•Responsible for assisting with the creation of an effective Business
Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan as well as the associated Testing
Procedures and subsequent Validation of the plan.
•Manage support of WAN connectivity to Mexico and Brazil operations as
defined in Service Level Agreements with each entity.
•Act as a liaison point of contact for all communications and joint effort
engagements.

*This also includes any other countries who may be involved in a particular
effort.*
•Routinely assess network performance including daily visual data center
inspections to potentially identify problems and spot trends.
Communicate findings to management in the event any issues are encountered.
•Continually assess network performance and identify areas for improvement,
potential cost savings, operational efficiencies or any other measures that
could be implemented to continually improve the level of service and the
quality of the product provided to the business. Communicate these
opportunities to the business for review.
•Perform ongoing network capacity planning according to the business need.
Keep management informed of changes and future requirements in support of
accurate budgeting and forecasting.
•Work with other departments to address ongoing issues, suggest
improvements and provide a single point of contact to those units that
merit special attention.
•Perform routine Capacity Management evaluation and provide management with
status updates and recommendations including technology road map
suggestions to stay ahead of corporate computing needs.
•Monitor and manage backups of Network and Security systems infrastructure.
Routinely perform network restores to demonstrate a manageable data
recovery model.
•Provide expert Network (LAN, WLAN, WAN), Hardware, Software Application,
Network Connectivity, Load-Balancer and End User support.
•Daily review of assigned tickets with a focus on entering applicable work
notes as resolution progresses.
Resolve all tickets based on their priority and SLA.
•Prepare and maintain all documentation associated with individual areas of
responsibility not specifically mentioned above.
•Be able to work flexible hours as required.
•Participate in monthly maintenance work sessions as required.
•Respond to all critical alerts 24/7/365.
•Communicate with co-workers, team members, management, clients and others
in a courteous and professional manner.
•Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and
instructions.
•Demonstrate reliable and predictable attendance.
•Other duties assigned to ensure overall departmental efficiency*.*
