*Job Position: SAS Analytics Consultant* Location: Bridgeport, CT
Duration: 6 months Interview: Will hire from phone and skype for some candidates ============================================= *SKILLS:* *Base SAS, SAS Macro, sql, proc sql, ftp* Please only send me 1 or 2 candidates only. They must answer a technical question sheet to be submitted. Immediate opening for a SAS contractor with strong *BASE SAS and SAS MACRO* experience. The candidate needs *advanced SQL experience* using the following database vendors *Sybase IQ, MS SQL or Oracle*. They should be highly experienced in *Data Mining* as well. Knowledge of *SAS STAT for creating predictive models geared to the banking industry is a plus.* The candidate will be working on various ETL development projects; creating Excel Spreadsheet Reports; and potentially building some predictive models. *SAS ANALYTICS DEVELOPER QUALIFICATIONS * · 5 years plus experience in *SAS Analytics Pro version 9.1.3 thru 9.4 (Windows 2008)* · Candidate must be able to follow program specifications to write, test, debug, document, and implement complex SAS programs to extract data from a variety of data sources, transform the data, and load the data to specified destinations. · Ability to create SAS Data Sets from raw data extracted from various data sources and file formats, for example simple ASCII flat files; EBCDIC flat files; flat files with multiple layouts, (Header, Detail, and Trailer records); XML; Excel spreadsheets; RDBMS tables; and SAS data sets. · Strong Experience with the Base SAS including Data Step; PROC Report; SAS ODS; Proc Tabulate; Proc Summary; PROC MEANS; SAS arrays; PROC Transpose and Merge. · Experience with Data Mining, Data Discovery, and building Predictive Models is a plus. · Experience with SAS STAT software including the creation of variance and predictive models; Analysis of Variance; Regression Analysis; and Multivariate Analysis is a plus. · Experience with SAS Graph software including the creation of data in charts, graphs, and maps as well as drill down is a plus. · Experience with SAS ETS Software econometric and time series techniques for modeling, forecasting, simulating business processes; modeling risk factors to predict economic outcomes for various scenarios; and using time stamp data to predict trends is a plus. *2. SAS MACRO* · 3 years plus experience in developing SAS Macros · Ability to write flexible and reusable code using SAS Macros. · Experience in Assigning Values to SAS MACRO variables and evaluating SAS MACRO variables. · Familiar with the differences between Data and MACROS Variables. · Complete understanding of Automatic, Global, and Local MACRO variables scope. · Ability to use positional parameters and to assign default values to the parameters to MACROS. *3. PROC SQL* · 3 plus years experience in using PROC SQL · Ability to Connect using SAS interface to ODBC and Oracle · Strong Experience with Queries; Inner and Outer Joins; Merging; inserting rows; updating large data sets; and removing duplicates. · Ability to create tables and views · Expert Query Performance Tuning skills *4. SQL* · Knowledge and Strong Experience with the following databases MS SQL Server; Oracle; and Sybase IQ · Ability to perform Complex Selects, Updates, Inserts, Deletes on database tables. · Knowledge of Oracle SQL Loader and MS SQL Server BCP is preferred. · Proficient in implementing Data Warehousing Solutions. · Understanding of Indexes. · Must have working knowledge of Erwin or similar data modeling software. *5. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS.* · Strong Leadership qualities and a self starter. · Excellent Oral and Written Communication skills · Strong Technical, Analytical, and Organizational Skills. · Ability to work independently on projects. · Team Player with excellent inter-personal skills. · Ability to interact with End Users and Business Analysis · Experienced with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). *6.
