*Job Title* Sr. QA Automation Engineer w/Selenium *Project Location* Nyc, NY *Duration* 6 months /Contract *Skills Required and Job Description:* *MOI:-TELEPHONIC+FACE2FACE* *Selenium and Cucumber is necessary* Automation QA Engineer *Job Description:* The Automation QA Engineer will be well-versed in developing, documenting, automating and executing tests to ensure the delivery of a quality business application software product. This position will involve writing test cases/scripts, automating test scripts, test execution including identification and tracking issues through resolution. It will also involve working on cross functional teams, hands on in writing database scripts, and being the technical expert on the MDM QA team that other team members can come to for testing guidance. *Qualifications:* - Candidates must be professional team players who have a competitive fire and passion about quality, mentoring, publishing, and client server applications as it pertains to the Digital world we live in. In addition, candidates need to be quick leaners who apply their testing and automation skills while exhibiting leadership in process re-engineering and in the implementation of process, technological, and organizational changes - Solid, demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance and testing methodologies (i.e., planning, scripting, testing and defect tracking) with practical experience implementing them in real world situations - Strong understanding of the software development cycle – including Agile Methodologies - Ability to decompose internal and customer requirements into detailed test cases for functional and regression test execution - Execute hands-on functional testing of applications, integrations across multiple platforms and configuration scenarios - Ability to interact with software developers, product managers, and business users required - Work with development team to drive defects and design changes from inception to resolution - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, parallel initiatives and meet established deadlines - Testing automation is in the forefront of your mind when executing testing for the purpose of process improvement - In depth knowledge in backend messaging - Ability to manage high volume working environment with multiple priorities simultaneously with aggressive deadlines *Experience:* - 7 years experience testing dynamic web-based business applications in a professional environment - 5 Years experience testing Mobile applications AND/OR Client Server Services environments - Must have Agile methodology experience and ability to collaborate with team members - 5 Years experience in test automation 2 years which using Selenium Web Driver - Strong experience in comparable tools (Junit, Quick Test Professional) to perform system tests - Experience in Cucumber - Familiarity with defect tracking tools (.JIRA) to track tasks and issues; create pre-release and release templates that include all common user stories and tasks; add additional tasks for sprint planning - Demonstrated knowledge databases and SQL as it relates to test execution, data validation, defect resolution, and environmental maintenance - Ability to work with project cycles and in various technical architectures - Experience in development technologies - Experience and knowledge of online retail in the publishing industry - Have a thorough understanding of how back-end and web-based systems interface with each other - Should have experience working with third party vendors with a deep understanding of systems integration - Experience in data driven testing and NoSQL data management or analytics experience is nice to have but not required. - This Engineer will be working as a key member of the MDM testing team, creating SQL queries, test case, automation scripts and extracting data to validate what is displayed in the applications as well as reports. The successful candidate will have a passion for testing but the knowledge on how applications work.
