Position Summary: The Systems Analysts [MULTIPLE POSITIONS] will gather/analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications for use by the Development team to build and configure the required computer systems using the technical standards. The ideal candidate would be familiar with the complete SDLC and would have hands on experience in analyzing business and functional requirements, documenting technical requirements and communicate effectively with the stakeholders. The candidate would be familiar with various software lifecycle methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall etc.). The candidate would be hands-on, solution oriented individual with strong analysis, logical and problem solving skills, along with a good understanding of business process, excellent debugging skills and ability to communicate well with business and technical partners, while handling multiple parallel deliverables. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and communicate clearly on the technical solution and understanding of business impact is a MUST. The candidate will document software issues encountered in production, analyze the root cause, debug the issue and provide solution to the user. Position Qualifications Education: BS in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience preferred Experience: Minimum 4 years’ experience in software development and software support operations. Previous experience as a Software Developer is a MUST. Minimum 2 years' experience in data modeling for relational databases. Minimum 2 years' experience in service oriented architectures and web service definitions. Proven systems analysis experience with the ability to independently work with internal and external business stakeholders. Proven experience in technical requirements gathering, definition and design Proven ability to design, document and maintain technical documentation including detailed technical process flows, technical specs, data integration and user interface design flow. Proven experience working with Excel and developing and maintaining various analyses and reporting tools Strong experience or understanding of Java/J2EE, XML, JSON and Web services Experience working in fast paced environments and agile development teams Experience creating web service API and file processing specifications 1+ years of experience with MS Visio (or similar tool like Power Designer) and similar tools to document deployment diagrams and use cases. Ability to support of end users by providing guidance on functional use of software Skills: Must be detail oriented, willing and able to “roll up their sleeves” to achieve results while possessing integrity and leadership skills with sound business ethics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook Knowledge of MS Project Strong organizational and time management skills A strong understanding about business process management A strong understanding about how a software company works Ability to identify weak spots in requirements management Ability to work in fast paced environments where the requirements constantly evolve and make updates to the technical documentation. A strong technical knowledge about Online Assessment Delivery preferred Experience with Atlassian products (Jira and Confluence) preferred Knowledge: A deep understanding and the ability to apply both the theoretical and practical aspects of agile development, proven experience with AGILE software development methodologies, and sound knowledge of Software Design Principles, Software Development Life Cycle, Design Patterns, Coding Practices and Emerging Technologies. Essential Functions / Job Duties: Some travel maybe required. Participate in all phases of the software delivery life cycle (SDLC), from requirements analysis/process design to development / testing / deployment of the technical solutions and localization Implement enterprise-wide technical solution best practices; and ensure project delivery is consistent with application/enterprise architecture standards Analyze the project high level solution design (HLSD), participate in the detailed application solution design and develop required technical specifications for use by the Development teams Reviews, analyzes, and creates detailed documentation of technical requirements including workflow, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs Interact with internal and external Business Analyst to understand the business and functional requirements Works closely with personnel and business partners to identify and maximize opportunities to use information and technology to improve product and service Consults with personnel to determine business, functional and technical requirements for specified applications Reviews and creates use cases and other technical documents with IT project staff to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following but not limited to these artifacts, Application Interface Tech Specs, Software Component Tech Specs and User Interface Tech Specs Work independently with Business Analysts, users to define concepts and under direction of project managers Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. Identify weak spots in the requirements gathering process and plan how to improve them Identify process improvement areas and present plan to appropriate stakeholders Serves as the conduit between the business community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow Develop technical requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language. Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
