*Role – SAAS Programmer*

*Location - Frankfort KY*

*Duration – 12+months*



Job Duties:

·         Will be focused on Billing and Capacity Planning.

·         Maintain and perform change on a z/OS billing system.  This
system is primarily written in SAS/MXG, however, it also contains other
components of billing software like IBM’s Tivoli Directory Server for z/OS
(TDSz) and Pacific Systems Spec-Writer.

·         Eliminate TDSz and Spec-Writer from this system or simplify our
billing system to all SAS/MXG.



Position Requirements

·         Working knowledge of SAS, JCL, and TSO.

·         Firm understanding of IBM’s z/OS mainframe operating system.

·         Working knowledge of Barry Merrill’s MXQ mainframe billing
software.

·         An understanding of MXG/RMF/SMF data within the MXQ software and
how it applies to COT’s billing: batch, TSO, IMS, CICS and WebSphere.

·         Working knowledge of IBM’s System Management Facility (SMF)
records as it pertains to dumping SMF data to create SAS/MXG work data sets
for further analysis.

·         An understanding of the metric drivers involved for billing
batch, TSO, IMS, CICS and WebSphere (CPUTIME, EXCPS, PRINT, TAPE and DASD)
and how to properly summarize the variables in SAS in order to create the
required billing metrics.

·         The ability to create batch jobs to accurately build daily MXG
billing data sets with an understanding of how to summarize that data to
minimize storage.  The skills necessary to re-build these data sets if data
is lost as well as the ability to determine if SMF/RMF intervals are
missing from the billing data.  As well as the ability to rebuild the
SAS/MXG databases to include the missing data.

·         Create/modify SAS programs using SAS/MXG to provide support of
the billing system.

·         The ability to calibrate MXG reports against IBM’s RMF Monitor I
reports as required.

·         Create SAS/MXG ad-hoc programs as requested by management.

·         The ability to understand IBM’s Tivoli Usage Accounting Manager
documentation as it pertains to SAS/MXG documentation in order to answer
historical billing questions.

·         Provide support for COT’s CPU reports on COT’s Intranet.

·         Participate in COT’s z/OS Team on-call rotation for support of
z/OS systems.

·         Provide support for abnormal termination of daily and monthly COT
billing jobs.

·         Provide MSU based CPU reports related to monthly MLC charges as
requested by COT management.

·         Provide consultation expertise in review of SMF parameters and
IBM’s RMF Monitor III functionality during z/Operating System upgrades.

Use IBM’s RMF Monitor III and TMON/MVS to analyze system utilization
