*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*

Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis and create hypotheses for data modeling.
Verify validity and correctness of analyses and modeling.
Work with and apply big data tools: Spark, Kafka, MapReduce, and other 
elements of the Hadoop ecosystem.
Deliver code and show results of progress to clients on a weekly and 
bi-weekly basis
Use ETL tools and query languages – Relational and Non-Relational – to 
extract and find the data you need.
Work closely with engineering and product teams to gather and process data 
as well as providing feedback on core products based on detailed data 
analysis
Work with business owners to turn business requirements into technical 
solutions
Present results of analyses to business units, explain technical and 
statistical concepts to technical and non-technical clients and co-workers.

*JOB QUALIFICATIONS*

Strong quantitative background. Advanced Degree in a quantitative field is 
nice, but not required – an analytical mindset and fluency with 
mathematical and statistical methods are required.
Demonstrable qualifications that you can conduct statistical analysis, 
explore data, and correctly apply machine learning to solve hard problems. 
Research experience with applied mathematics and computer science are 
impressive, but we are equally impressed by a competent autodidact.
•    Excellent coding and scripting skills. (e.g.: Python, R, Java, Scala, 
Shell scripting, Perl, C++, Ruby, etc.)
•    Excellent and thorough knowledge of SQL skills required
•    Cloud platform programming experience (e.g. Amazon Web Services or 
Microsoft Azure)
•    Experience using Microsoft Azure Cortana Intelligence Suite and/or 
Azure Machine Language is a plus
•    Solid understanding of general business fundamentals: marketing, 
accounting, finance, and management practices.
•    Knowledge of distributed computing, data warehouse, data mining,

  This role requires an experienced Data Scientist who can provide 
leadership to our data science team for a major construction company. We

science skills because this role is challenging. You will work with a team

will lead a team made up of a mixture of US-based and and off-shore members.
*Essential Functions*
 
Work with business owners to generate data science use cases and turn 
business requirements into analytical solutions.
Provide guidance, direction and thought leadership to junior data 
scientists and analysts.
Work closely with engineering and product teams to gather and process data 
as well as providing analysis and feedback on core products.
Verify validity and correctness of analysis and modeling efforts.
Design and implement controlled experiments to assess the efficacy of 
deployed models.
Present results of analyses to business units, explain technical and

Perform data extraction and exploratory data analysis on Microsoft SQL 
Server.
